Deputy General Manager - Mining Ore Processing

The role

Responsible for the processing of ore from the Rock Phosphate mine. The dry process involves multiple stages of crushing and screening. Currently, mobile crushing and screening equipment are available in the plant. The capacity of the mobile plant is 2500 T/day of ore. It is planned to install a fixed processing plant in near future and thereby increase the capacity to 5000 T/day of ore. The crushing equipment used are jaw crusher, cone crusher, and impact crusher. A mill is used to reduce the size of the concentrate to below 1.18 mm.

Key responsibilities:

1. Operate current mobile processing plant to process 2500 T/day of ore

2. Operate the washing plant to maximize the recovery of concentrate from the rejects of the dry process

3. Ensure concentrate is meeting the quality specifications

4. Monitor the inventories and arrive at the processing efficiency. Achieve the targeted efficiency.

5. Make improvements in the washing plant to maximize recovery of concentrate

6. Develop skilled manpower pool for O&M of equipment

7. Develop infrastructure and systems for O&M - workshops, spares inventory, preventive maintenance,

8. Design fixed processing plant and obtain offers from suppliers. Study drawings from vendors and carry out technical discussions.

9. Install fixed processing plant and achieve the desired throughput of 5000 T/day

10. Coordinate with mining to ensure availability of ore and with commercial to meet dispatch plans

Candidate

1. Bachelor's degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or mineral processing

2. 10-15 Experience in heading operations of a crushing & screening plant in India or abroad

3. Knowledge of maintenance of crushing and screening equipment

4. Design and installation of fixed crushing and screening plants (knowledge of Autocad will be an advantage)

5. Experience of working with reputed suppliers of crushing and screening equipment - McNally Bharat, Metso, Sandvik, FL Smidth

Candidate with experience of working in Africa or Middle East will be preferred. Hands-on operating and maintenance knowledge is essential. The position will report to Head (Mining Operations). Candidates can be from mineral processing industry which involves crushing - phosphate, aggregates, limestone, etc. Language proficiency in French is a definite advantage.
