Deputy General Manager/General Manager - Costing - ICWAI - Manufacturing

Functional Experience :

- 5 Years at Senior Level in costing function

- Atleast 2-3 years as Head of Costing

- Should be thorough with Cost Accounting fundamentals

Scope of Work / Area of Influence :

- To lead the Cost Accounting and MIS functions of the finance BU

- Finance BU consists of Costing & MIS, Treasury, Compliance and Payroll Management - out of these, Costing & MIS is the most critical function and accounts for more than 40% of the total work load.

- This position interacts with Manufacturing Heads, IT teams, Top Management, Divisional Sales & Marketing teams, Auditors and peers across functions who head various cost centers

Key Accountabilities :

- Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor.

- Oversee the Analyzing of data collected and recording results

- Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost

- Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs

- Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures

- Analyzing audits of costs and preparing reports

- Making estimates of new and proposed product costs

- Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.

- Maintaining Cost Accounting System

- Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger

- Conducts physical inventories and monitors cycle count program

- Reconciles finished goods inventories

- Drive various improvement initiatives to reduce costs and/or variances between budget and actual

Key Must Haves :

- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as Head of Cost Accounting function in a Manufacturing Environment with overall 8-10 years of experience

- Bachelors Degree in ICWAI

- Must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.

- Computer Literate - Strong Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word

- Excellent exposure in use of ERP, especially SAP FICO modules

- Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards

- Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
