Deputy Chief Technology Officer - Asset Business

Key Relationships :

Internal :

- Close working relationships with key stakeholders of the major projects.

- Close working relationship with Asset Division CIO, CTO, Delivery Centre Head, Asset Divisions CIOs, CIO of Infrastructure, Trading IT CTO.

- Working relationships with CEO, CFO, COO of Asset Division companies in which and for whom major projects are being conducted.

- Close working relationship with Group IT Infrastructure engineering department

- Working relationships with other IT department leads within Group.

External : 3rd party support service provides (especially providers of analysis, design, development and testing skills), 3rd party consulting service providers.

Context :

- Our Clients Group runs asset businesses around the world. These businesses are supported by it's IT department. The IT department is responsible for identifying, assessing, introducing and operating new technology within the group.

- From time to time the IT department jointly runs major IT projects with the business. These are of necessity major change projects as well as major technology implementations.

- A Deputy CTO is being sought to expand technology / architecture and delivery leadership capacity of the CTO area. Deputy CTO to work with and for Group CTO to lead enterprise, application and technical strategy definition, architecture and low level design activities within Client's Asset Divisions. The successful candidate will play a major role in shaping the IT of a global company.

Key Job Responsibilities :

- As a member of CTO leadership team job holder will be expected to take responsibility for delivery within CTO group's scope as agreed from time to time.

- Partnering with CIOs, CTO, Head of Delivery Centre, CIO of Infrastructure set the strategic road-map for Asset IT systems within area(s) of responsibility.

- Leading technical evaluations of potential package solutions to ensure quality of selection process and quality of selected products.

- Conducting PoCs for new technologies that could benefit the business.

- Conducting research and communicating new technology driven business innovation opportunities.

- Collaboratively defining and controlling application, development and deployment architecture standards (ALM lifecycle, tooling, technology, etc)

- Defining infrastructure requirements and working with Infrastructure engineering to provision them.

- Ensuring all strategic development conforms to architectural standards and the architecture is appropriately documented.

- Defining NFRs for IT system development and ensuring system compliance.

- Leading and motivating teams of architects, designers, developers and testers as required.

- As a member of senior IT leadership team participating in recruiting permanent and contract resources

- Providing professional and IT skill coaching to team members and peers.

Pre-requisites :

Experience :

- Undergraduate University degree from a university universally recognized for its academic excellence.

- Undergraduate University degree in an intellectually challenging and analytical subject.

- Computer Science, Engineering, Science or other related field preferred.

- First class degree preferred.

- IT technology background with strong business delivery focus.

- Minimum 12 years experience in information systems in Global Environment.

- Minimum 5 years experience as a software developer and/or application support analyst and technical/application solution architect or senior IT delivery leader.

- Must have development experience in a range of languages and development environments, and solving a range of business problems through technology or via suggesting process change.

- Must have experience of developing in OO languages and database systems.

- Minimum 7 years experience leading architecture design activity.

- Must have experience of architecting and designing in OO and non-OO applications and environments.

- Must have design experience in complex multi-application multi-interface environments with complex interface topology.

- Must have lead architecture design and/or architecture solution delivery across a range of projects, including large projects of 100+ resources.

- Must have demonstrable knowledge and experience of designing application, technical and operational architecture.

- Must have interface design and development experience, messaging system design experience, database architectures.

- Must have complex data model design experience both logical and physical.

- Must have strong knowledge and experience in computer networking

- Should have familiarity with application and infrastructure support.

- Should have knowledge and experience of at least one leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Goodle Cloud Platform)

- Lead architecture teams of 3+ or more resources for the duration of several large and complex projects.

- Experience designing for business benefit outcomes (revenue and cost reduction) and not only for technology and process outcomes.

- Experience designing for business and IT support operations (business exception scenarios and business error scenarios in addition to pure technical scenarious.

- Ability to produce management-level deliverables as well as lead the work.

- Essential in a fast-moving results-oriented date-driven company such as MNC Group.

- Essential to be able to judge the quality of deliverables.
