Position : Demand Planner

Reporting To : Head Material Management

Location : Corporate Office , Gurgaon

The team you will be a part of:

The Material Management team is responsible for inventory audits and maintaining inventory at optimum levels. Develops procedures to enhance the effectiveness of inventory control programs. Coordinates with relevant departments to schedule, audit, and reconcile periodic physical inventories. Oversees incoming shipments of merchandise to ensure that inventory is accurate, updated and provided according to schedules.

This role in summary:

The Demand Planner is responsible for forecasting, analyzing market trends, and developing demand plans to ensure optimal inventory levels. This role involves collaborating with various departments, such as sales, marketing, and production, to create accurate demand forecasts that meet customer needs while minimizing excess inventory costs.


Proficiency in Sales force is required for effective communication and collaboration with the sales team. The Demand Planner must also factor in seasonality trends to enhance forecasting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

Demand Forecasting:

Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and input from sales and marketing teams.

Utilize demand planning software and tools to enhance forecasting accuracy.

Collaboration:

Work closely with sales, marketing, and production teams to gather information on market trends, promotions, and product launches that may impact demand.

Data Analysis:

Analyze data from multiple sources to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies that may impact demand forecasting.

Inventory Management:

Optimize inventory levels by aligning demand forecasts with production schedules and supply chain capabilities.

Minimize excess inventory and stock outs through effective planning.

Communication:

Communicate demand forecasts and related insights to cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and understanding.

Provide regular updates on forecast accuracy and potential risks or opportunities.

Performance Monitoring:

Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning and adjust strategies as needed.

Market Research:

Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes that may impact demand.

S&OP Meetings:

Participate in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to align demand plans with production, sales, and financial goals.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements in demand planning and forecasting methodologies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with various departments to gather input, share insights, and align strategies.
