Roles and Responsibilities

A Big Data Consultant should have:

- Overall experience of 1-7 years with relevant years on Big Data platform. A strong hold on fundamentals like RDBMS, Data Warehouse, Data Modelling, SQLs, ETL, Data Integration.

- Experience on tools like Hadoop, HDFS, Apache Spark, Hive, ElasticSearch, Map Reduce, Flume, Splunk, Google Analytics, Heroku

- Experience with No-SQL DBs and its corresponding data movement tools like impala, fluentd, logstash, Rabbit MQ, Kafka, MongoDB etc.

- Experience with machine learning tools or advance analytics tools like R, Storm, Rapidminer, Mahout, Kibana

- Ability to understand/use/design a data lake

- Experience on using multiple technology combination for business application development

- Working knowledge on any of the cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) would be an added plus

- Any certification in Big Data space will be a strong advantage.

- Knowledge of Agile or SDLC process is good to have

- Good communication skills both written and oral.

- Strong Education Background.

- Must be a Team player (Raises issues/concerns and seeks meaningful resolution)

- Strong interpersonal skills

- Well-developed business acumen

- Strong problem solving skills

- Strong sense of ownership and accountability of tasks with attention to detail

- Engineering degree from premier institutes

- Willingness to travel for short and long term duration
