Instructional Designer- Manager

As an Instructional Designer, you'll design and develop learning solutions based on the client's requirements, desired learning outcome, and the processes we follow. Work you'll do :

As an Instructional Designer- Manager, you are expected to:

Instructional Design :

- Manage instructional design efforts in the team and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), clients/stakeholders, and the team to develop and deliver learning solutions

- Manage client relationships

- Demonstrate strong client relationship skills by providing deep learning insights that can be translated into tactical learning solutions

- Enhance relationship management strategy to serve functions better by aligning their business needs with performance support solutions

- Conduct regular meetings/calls with business and talent groups to understand requirements, inform of critical issues, offer solutions, and build support for LDS

- Serve as a subject matter expert to address questions and concerns from leadership on learning design solutions for business contexts

- Plan and participate in social and learning events both in real time and virtually, to build greater credibility and awareness and acceptance of LDS services Consultation

- Take initiative and interact confidently with various stakeholders to facilitate meetings, identify needs, analyze situations, formulate solutions, secure buy-in, and implement

Technical :

- Have prior experience working with tools and templates to design and develop learning deliverables.

- Have prior experience in developing different training product types, such as Application simulations, ILTs/vILTs, WBTs, Job Aids, and QRCs.

This includes the ability to:

- Research, analyze, design, develop, and customize instructional materials for WBT (Web-Based Training)/CBT (Computer-Based Training)/ILT (Instructor-Led Training) o Work with different types of input material to create instructional content

- Apply various instructional strategies, models, and theories to develop learning content to enhance learning transfer and greater on-the-job performance

- Visualize content and work with Graphic Designers in the development of graphics and animations

- Show proficiency with MS Office, specifically MS Word and PowerPoint

- Demonstrate knowledge of courseware development tools such as Captivate, Prezi, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, and Lectora

- Work with time-effort estimates and overseeing the execution at various phases of the project life cycle

Team Management :

- Select the right resources for the team

- Create strong shared purpose and clear roles and responsibilities

- Define success in terms of the whole team

- Lead and manage assistant managers responsible for various work streams

- Support individual and team goal achievement and manage performance review processes of direct and indirect reports

Leadership :

- Lead with Vision and Purpose: Communicate a compelling and inspired vision and sense of common purpose. Talk about possibilities beyond today. Create milestones and symbols to rally support for the vision

- Lead Process Management: Design and implement processes necessary to get things done effectively (in the right way) and efficiently (at the right cost). Understand how to separate and combine tasks into efficient workflow. Can simplify complex processes. Get more out of fewer resources Communication

- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate across levels in a highly effective manner.

- Understand how to effectively navigate and resolve escalations and related issues at all levels Execution

- Have a successful record of accomplishment of planning and execution. Clearly assign responsibility for tasks and decisions. Set clear goals and measures, monitor processes, progress, and results.

Data Analysis and Reporting :

- Analyze data, identify key findings, and create executive summaries

- Create and provide executive reports to senior leadership and oversee the metrics (balanced scorecard) generated by the project manager. Provide regular project status updates to leadership

Documentation and Issue Resolution :

- Manage issue documentation, escalation, and resolution related to the program

- Own and manage end-to-end processes- budgets, risks, vendor contracts and relationships, and ITS/systems needs as appropriate for learning solutions

Interpersonal and Organizational Effectiveness :

- Demonstrate outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels within and across teams.

- Establish the right communications vehicles to ensure real-time and close connection to business leaders, organizational priorities, and changes

The team :

The Learning Design Services (LDS) Team in India focuses on designing and implementing organizational learning to enhance our own workforce's capabilities and improve their client outcomes. The LDS team designs and develops instructionally sound eLearning courses, virtual instructor-led training material (VILT), instructor-led training material (ILT), and experimental learning courses to meet business and learning requirements of talent within various functions in the Firm.

Qualifications Required:

- Should be a postgraduate with prior Instructional Design/Learning and Development and/or Organizational Development experience. A degree in the field of learning and development is preferred. Prior experience at a professional services firm desired

- Should have 10- 12 years of experience in learning design and implementation with at least 4 years management experience of large teams and/or business units in a talent development or learning setting is essential

- Should have experience in budget and vendor contract management

Preferred:

As an Instructional Designer- Manager, you should be able to:

- Create project plans and related resource plans together with the PM

- Manage teams to execute projects leading to timely delivery, quality, and compliance with the project's scope

- Develop learning materials associated with the project including instructor guides, participant guides, hands-on activities, handouts, diagrams and pictures, job aids and self-study materials

- Collaborate with subject matter experts and performance consultants

- Create storyboards to be used as blueprint instructions for designers to create e-learning deliverables

- Lead and train team mates to provide end-to-end learning solutions

- Develop key messages and communicate around project updates

- Review team members work for relevance and quality

- Demonstrate excellent writing and project management skills

- Demonstrate strong communication skills, and the ability to interact at all levels

- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and team-building skills

- Possess a flexible work style and be able to work beyond the normal schedule during peak periods in order to meet deadlines

- Work effectively, with minimal day-to-day supervision, and within a team environment to Significantly contribute to the success of the team

- Possess a client-service mindset and a desire to take on tough and challenging projects

- Proactively investigate and mitigate risks, coordinating with team members and others to resolve issues and escalate issues as necessary

Work timings: 11AM-8PM
