Job opening with Dell R&D for the position of CML Launch and Business Development Advisor-Bangalore.

Role is responsible for product management of Dell’s Compellent SC4000 series in the APJ region. Activities will include direct and indirect sales training, development of customer references, managing launch activities, providing pre-sales support, working with partners, and help drive regional outbound marketing programs. Goal is to drive success of SC4000 and the SC Series family in APJ.

Ensures offerings are defined to obtain maximum profitability. Develops and implements strategic marketing plans and objectives. Evaluates and adjusts strategies to respond to changing and/or competitive markets. Identifies and communicates customer value proposition and maintains relationships with sales, product partners, and third party vendors. Contributes to product development based on customer needs. Maintains relationships with and represents customer requirements during the development process.

Principle accountabilities:

- Develops specific marketing and communications plans and activities for specific product(s) or product line(s) to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena.

- Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity and identifies customer needs.

- Drives the development and communications of product definition and solution plans to optimize the company’s products and services portfolio.

- Applies broad knowledge of company’s product/service capabilities and competitive environment to identify new growth areas, new technology and emerging product/service opportunities.

- Oversees the analysis and evaluation of key market statistics and customer requirements to define product strategies and identify product opportunities to expand market share.

- Evaluates in-depth market analysis and leads business case for optimization of existing products/solutions alternatives and/or to create the next generation of new products.

- Develops business plans, marketing strategy, and forecasts for solutions.

- Maintains current status of customer requirements for existing and future products.

- Supports product launch and provide sustaining efforts to enable quoting, validation, pricing, order entry, and fulfillment of products under management via internal sales tool and external web stores.

- Works with demand, supply, and pricing teams to ensure accurate forecasting, lead-time estimating, and pricing for products under management.

- Manages product launches to ensure sales force readiness and optimize P&L impact of product transitions.

- Conducts competitive analysis to determine appropriate positioning and product messaging.

- Oversees and drives products and solutions through the phase release or solutions release process including business case and resource requirements.

- Identifies, evaluates and recommends marketing opportunities consistent with product line and solution objectives.

- Manages product portfolio roadmap and works to scope opportunities and obtain appropriate funding for new programs.

Skills and experience:

- In-depth disciplinary knowledge; leverages business acumen and subject matter expertise. Provides deep subject matter expertise, advice and program delivery. Contributes to the development of new techniques and plans within area of expertise.

- In-depth understanding of Dell goals, customer requirements and knowledge of competitor practices.

- Thorough understanding of Dell business priorities, strategy and direction.

- Thorough understanding and management of customer business needs and expectations.

- Manages projects and program execution.

- Works on abstract and complex problems requiring evaluation of intangible variables. Integrates trends, data and information into plans, deliverables and recommendations.

- Develops innovative and creative output based on interpretation and analysis that improve business performance and contribute to corporate goals and strategic intent: Opportunity/risk analyses, Cost/benefit analyses, Pricing models.

- Anticipates operational, program, and implementation issues and develops preventative measures.

- Adapts projects, programs or methods based on customer or business partner feedback.

- Work is guided by business plans for the discipline. Actively participates in setting area objectives to meet plans. Escalates matters of business risk.
- Influences others through their professional/technical expertise.

- Manages critical projects, customer engagements or business processes. Guides completion of major projects or customer engagements.

- Contributes to the area through delivery of end results and contribution to planning for the area.

- Provides thought leadership, guidance and advice in own field.

- Works across the organization to effectively obtain and allocate resources to complete programs and projects on time.

- Adapts communication techniques for audiences at multiple internal and external levels. Presents facts and information to negotiate mutually acceptable solutions. Delegates clearly and comfortably.

- Cultivates, develops and manages strong, lasting customer relationships at senior management level.

- May manage vendor relationships.

- Manages products through their entire life cycle, and support decisions regarding enhancements throughout the lifecycle until product End of Life (EOL).

- Creates materials which drive worldwide common product positioning, messaging, and marketing materials to achieve maximum effectiveness and minimize regional duplication of effort.

QUALIFICATIONS

Undergraduate degree and 6-8 years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 4-6 years relevant experience.
