Key Responsibilities :

- Leads a team of linehaul managers and engineers in developing, implementing and operating effective line-haul solutions for a complex operation. Includes performing diverse actions related to planning, vendor evaluation, controlling costs and achievement of required service levels.

- Involves participating in projects to improve and/or extend services to meet evolving business needs, requiring alignments with key functions and inter-actions with vendors to define and implement changes:

Local project support :

- Participates in projects by understanding requirements of location operations. Identifies opportunities to enhance or modify processes, procedures and timelines for dedicated service to key customers. Supports the development of appropriate line-haul recommendations and/or implementation of approved solutions.

Strategic in country or intra country project support :

- Provides support for strategic projects that include a linehaul or commercial lift requirement. Includes performing research to evaluate vendor capabilities (performance, costs, stability etc.) and makes appropriate recommendations.

Service contract administration :

- Manages existing contract administration. Develops and recommends new/amended Service Contracts for LH vendors that incorporate all relevant service and cost criteria. Includes agreeing content with key decision-makers and coordinating the approval process with all stakeholders.

Cost management :

- Effective management of vendor costs by performing appropriate checks on complex and high value vendor invoices and by preparing accurate monthly accrual figures relating to all vendor activities etc. Performs capacity utilization for all the linehaul options used and initiates actions to improve utilization.

Linehaul performance analysis :

Performs analysis of linehaul results and recommends actions to improve productivity, service levels and/or reduce costs. Analyses the profitability of special line-haul arrangements to determine if they remain viable, proposes alternative arrangements or specific actions needed, as appropriate. Prepares management reports for linehaul performance.

Procedures :

- Develops procedures and KPI to monitor line haul performances, keeping manual of procedures updated in compliance with ISO requirements. Conduct market research to identify new/alternative line haul suppliers. Preparation of MOP and quality indicators as required.

Solutions Development :

- Evaluates issues relating to trucking or commercial lift solutions. Develops and recommends effective solutions and works to implement the solution. Verifies the solution is effective and replicates where applicable. Includes supporting BD with the analysis of proposed line-haul costs and providing direct assistance to the Customer when requested.

Regulatory Compliance :

- Keeps himself and the teams updated about the latest regulatory challenges for all the states/local regulatory bodies and utilizes the knowledge to develop solutions and procedures for smooth movement of goods within and outside the country.

Automation : Participates in automation initiatives where applicable

- Coaches and instructs less experienced colleagues to ensure appropriate solutions are designed.
