AM-Purchase
The Assistant Manager- Purchase will report to the Purchase Manager. He will be responsible for managing the Procurement and timely delivery of all Raw and Packing Material for the business.
Key Raw and Packing Material to be purchased include :
- Laminates for packaging
- Refined Oil
- Agricultural materials like Corn Meal, Seasonings, Potato, Peanuts and Pulses
- Promotional material e.g. toys
- Cartons
- Point of Purchase Materials
The responsibilities will include :
- Material Resource Planning on a monthly & regular basis
- Purchase of all required materials as per requirements within cost and quality standards
- Maintain the Purchase Price variation as per the Defined AOP
- Placing call ups on the vendor to ensure timely delivery of RM / PM requirement for the month.
- Planning and delivery of Laminate and Toys to ensure timely executions of Promotional activities
- Managing Inventory within agreed levels as per AOP
- Develop and contribute Productivity initiatives to delivery cost saving targets for the Annual budgets
- Prepare on timely basis Monthly Purchase MIS for Management review
- Maintain a watch on Commodities movement through various National & International Channels / sources
- Monitor supplier performance to assess their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
- Initiate Vendor development program including development of alternative suppliers
- Preparation of an Annual Purchase Budget and a monthly Review
Professional/technical qualification/skills :
- Recognized procurement professional.
- A good technical appreciation of the range of procurement categories.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Project Management skills.
- Excellent team management and people skills are essential.
- Ability to negotiate at the highest levels with suppliers
Profile :
The ideal candidate should be an experienced Assistant Manager who has had experience in working in the Packaged Food Industry or FMCG background. Familiarity with agricultural commodities would be a plus.
- He should be commercially savvy and a good negotiator. He should be proficient in MS Office - Word, Excel and Power Point
- He should have a minimum of 5 - 6 years of experience and may be around 30 years old
- He should be an MBA or a Post Graduate in Economics/Commerce.
