Job Title: DEAN, SCHOOL OF DEVELOPMENT STUDIES

Reports to: PRESIDENT, IIHMR

Location: JAIPUR

Introduction:

IIHMR University, Jaipur established under the IIHMR University Act, 2014 (Act No.3 of 2014) by the Government of Rajasthan, is dedicated to the improvement in standards of health through better management of health care and related programs. It seeks to accomplish this through management education, research, training, consultation, and institutional networking in a national and global perspective. The university offers postgraduate programs - MBA-Hospital and Health Management (under Institute of Health Management Research); MBA-Pharmaceutical Management (under School of Pharmaceutical Management); Master of Public Health (under S.D. Gupta School of Public Health); MBA-Development Management (under School of Development Studies). The university also offers PhD program (full-time/part-time); Training (MDPs) and Executive Education programs across all Schools.

Goal:

IHMR University has significant contribution towards capacity building of in-service professionals. The objectives of the University shall be to undertake only postgraduate education and research to and to achieve excellence and impart and disseminate knowledge in the various disciplines it works in. The University has consistently engaged in capacity building programmes for national and international participants working with government, national and international NGOs, and private sector organizations.

Reason for the hire:

The Dean is responsible for programmatic, managerial, and fiscal responsibilities for the school and responsible for the key activities including teaching-learning and evaluation; faculty empowerment strategies; curriculum design, development, and enrichment; student support and progression; student admission and placement; resource mobilization; work closely with Dean, Research; Dean,

Training and Dean, Executive Education.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Strategy Planning and Execution

- Develop, manage and evaluate all budgetary and programmatic aspects of a comprehensive career program for students and alumni

- Responsible for need identification, conceptualization, designing, and executing the learning experiences for the clients, faculty, and students

- Capability Builder

- Provide continuous training of faculty on pedagogy and student experience through FDPs

- Mentor, guide and build a high performing team to ensure they are delivering quality matter.

- Innovation Catalyst

- Spearheading research and post-graduate programs, including launching new PGP courses

Must Haves:

- The incumbent should come with around 10 years of experience as a professor in a reputed University / Management institute.

- The incumbent should have a Post Graduate and Doctorate degree in relevant subjects

- The incumbent should have adequate knowledge and experience in leading the academic program at the postgraduate (Development Studies) level in the respective domain areas of the school.

Preferable:

- Having the right knowledge base of the current curriculum trends, instructional strategies, practices, developments and related governmental procedures and guidelines.
