Purpose of Role:


The Senior Manager General Merchandising will manage Non-Food Category Management across Home, Electronics, Appliances, Apparel, Mobile, IT accessories & ensure category penetration, growth & buyer experience


Role Dimensions:


- Knowledge & Application: Deep knowledge in sourcing from extensive experience or academic qualification, with considerable proficiency in subject matter understanding.


- Interaction: Masters the fundamentals of managing a multi-level org and/or multi stakeholder management. Aligns stakeholders and unblocks execution for team members.


- Problem Solving: Diverse problems that can have interdependency across functions and may require new solutions to be implemented. Operates in ambiguity and manages crisis situations.


- Accountability/Impact: Business Enabler. Drives excellence to augment and optimize achievement of business goals


Reporting and location


- Incumbent will be reporting into the Director/Associate Director General Merchandise and will be based out of Gurgaon.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:


- Growth: Own a Category P&L, Selection, Assortment to drive exponential revenue growth and margins


- Selection: Responsible for Sourcing/Buying, merchandising, assortment planning to ensure that DealShare has leadership position in identified segments. You should have an eye for identifying products, offers and negotiating the best rates


- Category Operations: Oversee merchandising operations, Inbound planning, Catalogue monitoring and margin


- Stakeholder Management: Drive growth through Marketing, Operations and CS


- Tracking inventory movement and systematically introducing promotions, sales, price changes, etc.


- Interpreting sales reports and providing guidance on how to improve figures and customer engagement.


- Identifying trends and monitoring supply and demand.


Skills & Competency:


- Deep domain expertise in the identified category and geographies, are essential for this role


- The role is required to work on deliver on daily numbers, short-term goals and long-term milestones set by business and efficacy. Meeting these milestones would be critical to create success.


- The role needs the individual to be able to solve for a given business problem in sometimes an ambiguous state and with multiple data streams impacting decision making


- Strong data driven problem-solving skills, eye for extreme details and process led.


- The role requires the incumbent to work closely and coordinate with the Internal and external teams to create success. She/he should be able to seamlessly navigate these relationship

dynamics in a high growth, young, agile business environment.


- Startup Cultural Fit - willingness to learn, to innovate, to take initiative, to think out of the box, hustle, ability to execute


- Ability to lead a team


- Strong English Communication verbal and written skills


Interactions:


- Internal Stakeholders: Inventory management, Supply chain management, finance, customer care


- External Stakeholders: suppliers, manufacturers


Travel Frequency: As & when required.


Candidate Profile:


An Ideal candidate would be curious, creative, obsessive for consumer, eager to unlearn and learn with bias for results. With demonstrated record of mentoring teams in fast growing and dynamic organizations, and should be willing to go that extra mile to work beyond the KPIs.


The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Retail (Modern Trade / B2B / eComm) or FMCG businesses with focus on deep domain expertise in Buying/Sourcing.


Required:


- 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in Sourcing


Good to Have:


- MBA from a reputed college is necessary
