Associate Director - Operations - Kolkata Purpose of Role: The Associate Director - Operations will own and drive PNL for DSD City Business & identified DSD cities. Role Dimensions: &lt;From Career Band Descriptors&gt; - Needs to be contextualized for the roles Knowledge & Application: Expertise in developing B2C/B2B Operations from scratch. Understanding of the warehousing, last mile operations, Inventory, and technology to create a highly cost-effective B2C business delivering goods to the nook and corner of the identified tier3 /tier 4 markets Problem Solving: Ability to break complex business problems in warehousing and last mile operations into simpler task items to develop the last mile distribution model, Inventory Model and Marketing strategy for the DSD city business. Execute the solution by engaging stakeholders in Operations, Marketing, Inventory and Product / Technology teams. Interaction: Ability to motivate and lead cross functional team consisting of operations, marketing, inventory, and product / technology Accountability: Ability to lead and execute ambitious business goals. Reporting and location: Incumbent will be reporting into Head of Expansion and will be based out of Cluster Location Key Roles and Responsibilities: Last Mile Execution: - Own the city's multiple Hub's operations ; Delivery through Hubs for Last Mile - Ensuring that the KPI's are achieved. Manage stakeholders (i.e., warehouse managers, Hub Managers, logistics, buyers, CS, planning etc.). - Recruit and groom Hub Managers and their team for high performance output. - Drive business with focus on rapid scale and cost efficiencies. Also, recommending the locations for the new Hubs to balance the Cost/TAT metrics. - Utilize order fulfillment data to understand customer expectations from the Last mile perspective. Identify areas of improvement and new solutions to deliver consistent and cost-effective logistics services Partner Relations: - Develop logistics partnership, negotiate contracts and manage logistic network performance. - Identify and resolve problem areas for customers and logistic partners for consistent and transparent delivery experience. - Scaling the Last mile operations in accordance with the growth plan of the business Develop and Optimize Processes: - Take big picture ideas and break them into actionable steps with progressive timelines for completion. - Ensure the SOPs adherence across the Hubs through Hub Managers Skills & Competency: Role requirements in terms of competencies / skills: - PNL Owner - Bias for execution, Hustler - Hands-on experience in logistics and supply chain management - Program Management - Understanding of Inventory Models and Performance Marketing - Expertise in business modeling, Data Analytics - Business Strategy - Problem solving, RCA - Stakeholder Management Interactions: - Internal Stakeholders; Performance Marketing, Operations, Inventory, Customer Service, Product & Technology - External Stakeholders; DSD Partners. - Travel Frequency; Indicate the travel required for the role - Extensive travel would be required to the regional / cluster operations facilities as well as Tier2/Tier3/Tier4 markets. - Candidate Profile; Typical candidate career experience Required: - 8 to 10 years' experience in large scale supply chain operations - 4+ experience in fast paced e-commerce operations - Postgraduate in Management ; IIM (Tier1) - Business Modeling and Data Analytics - Program management - Developing operational capacity from scratch - Problem Solving - Cost Prudence
