Associate Director Category Management
Purpose of Role : The Associate Director Category Management will manage the company's sourcing portfolio, ensuring, and implementing efficient Sourcing and Category Management strategies.
Reporting and location : Incumbent will be reporting into the VP Commodities/FMCG and will be based out of Mumbai Location
Key Roles and Responsibilities :
- Growth : Own Category P&L, Selection, Assortment to drive exponential revenue growth and margins
- Selection : Responsible for Sourcing/ Buying, merchandising, assortment planning to ensure that DealShare has a leadership position in identified segments. You should have an eye for identifying changing consumer trends and consequent business opportunity
- Marketing promotions : Collaborate with the marketing and business teams to drive the marketing plans for the category including category and product promotion plans
- Strategy : Own, define and drive growth strategy across category, products, consumer segments, geographies
- Category Operations : Manage merchandising operations, Inbound planning, Catalogue monitoring and margin
- Insights : New User, New Channels, New Products, Automation to beyond metro, beyond google, next 500 million users
- Analytics : Market Research, Consumer Insights, Competitive landscape, Business Intelligence
- Stakeholder Management : Drive growth through Marketing, Operations and CS
- Negotiate and manage a strong relationship with vendors
- Conduct competition benchmarking
- Special Projects: Lead business critical special projects involving stakeholders across functions like marketing, operations, supply chain etc.
Skills & Competency :
- Deep domain expertise in the identified category and geographies, are essential for this role
- The role is required to work on deliver on daily numbers, short-term goals and long-term milestones set by business and efficacy. Meeting these milestones would be critical to create success.
- The role needs the individual to be able to solve for a given business problem in sometimes an ambiguous state and with multiple data streams impacting decision making
- Strong data driven problem-solving skills, eye for extreme details and process led.
- The role requires the incumbent to work closely and coordinate with the Internal and external teams to create success. She/he should be able to seamlessly navigate these relationship dynamics in a high growth, young, agile business environment.
- Startup Cultural Fit - willingness to learn, to innovate, to take initiative, to think out of the box, hustle, ability to execute
- Ability to lead a team
- Strong English Communication verbal and written skills
- Strong negotiation skills
Required :
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Sourcing
- Graduate
Good to Have : MBA from a reputed college is not necessary but will be considered a plus
