Data Scientist - Retail

As a Data Scientist/Engineer, you will :

- Solve business problems related to data analysis/mining and machine learning techniques.

- You will build classification models to improve Search conversion by 30%.

- Improve the user engagement for Predictive Search by 25%.

- Improve Search Conversion (Click thru rate) for long tail search words by 10%.

- Design and implement efficient algorithms for ranking search results

- Stays current with Big Data technology.

Required Qualifications :

- M.S. in math, advanced statistics, physics, operations research and/or computer science

- Strong algorithms and statistics background

- 3+ years of experience deploying algorithms in a production environment

- Experience with ML on map/reduce big data systems (e.g., Hadoop/Spark).

- Experience with end-to-end software development processes

- Experience with implementing machine learnt classification models.

- Experience with Search Relevancy and ranking

Preferred Qualifications :

- Comfortable in - nix environment (e.g., ssh and standard commands)

- Experience with NoSQL data stores.

- Experience with agile/scrum practices.

- Experience of working with distributed teams

Skills :

Domain : retail, ecommerce search

- Algorithms/Machine learning classification, clustering algorithms with one of Python, R, Spark ML libraries

- Big data experience Pig, Hive, R, Hadoop, Spark

- Text processing NLP (Natural language processing), Word2Vec, Doc2Vec, text mining

- Areas worked search relevancy, search ranking, product recommendation, cross sell, up sell, product classification etc.

- Other keywords click stream data, analytics
