Job Description - Client is looking for a data scientist who will be part of their R&D set up in Hyderabad and will be responsible for building and deploying Machine learning solutions in various areas like satellite imaging, crop protection, and predictive agriculture.

Client Details

Our client is a world leader in plant biotechnology and is responsible for delivering crop genetic solutions to their customers. They are aggressively building their Research Centre in Hyderabad and are looking for a Data Scientist to join their team.

Description

While reporting to the India site head, you will be responsible for:

- Working closely with subject matter experts who are plant breeding scientists, farmers and producers, molecular biologists, imaging scientists and commercial teams

- Building and deploying Machine Learning solutions in various areas such as satellite imaging, drone based crop protection, predictive agriculture, and precision decision making.

- Developing predictive analytics solutions using machine learning techniques to deliver improved services to the farmers across the globe

- Developing workflows to process data and develop models for a problem, and ensure that such workflows and learnt models are transferable to other problems that are similar in nature

- Leading small to mid-size analysis projects and help scope and plan for larger projects.

Profile

As a successful candidate you need to have:

- Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Physics, Mathematics or related field or related scientific discipline with at least 2 years of relevant post-PhD experience

- Strong programming experience in R or Python with focus on visualization and deployment.

- Prior experience in applying Machine Learning on time-series analysis or on satellite images is desirable

- Experience working with open source libraries and toolkits such as SciPy, SciKit-Learn, TensorFlow, Torch, Theano, OpenCV, Caffe.

- Practical cloud computing experience with AWS technologies and experience in high performance and data intensive platforms
