The Challenge :

To promote creative and experimental culture across the organization, including more self-service tools for the team and stimulate business demand.

Information landscapes in the organisation are scattered and have a complex reporting landscape. In addition, the data source systems are also different in usage, from ERP, CRM, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and external data/systems. Each business group systems, processes are at different maturity levels, with some at higher automation levels while others use manual output methods.

To assist you in dealing with the challenge, SSO MDM & Reporting is a new department created in GIS, with the mission to stimulate a fact based data driven culture across the organization through the provision of desirable, agile and cost-effective solutions to group functions at the speed of business need. This position reports into Director MDM/Reporting/Analytics.

The Position :

- You have a noticeable role in modeling complex business problems, discovering business insights and seeing opportunities using statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques in all domains in the organization.

- Our expectation is that you will collaborate and work with business information analysts and business senior business users to develop analytical models that can be industrialized to solve the specific strategic business question. Your focus will be more on what is likely to happen within the organization businesses, and what should relevant business users be doing about it.

Key Areas of Accountability/ Responsibility

- Responsible for building predictive models for critical business problems (e.g. Sales and Marketing, Operations), designs experiments and test hypotheses

- Collaborate with various business analyst teams across the company to gather user requirements and define analytics roadmap

- Extract actionable insights from huge volumes of rich data using data mining, statistics, and database techniques

- Acquire new datasets, Parse datasets, Filter and Organize data, Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis, Mine Data for patterns

- Represent data visually and Automate models

- Improve data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems

- Drive feature engineering, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques

- Define the measurement system and track them closely to increase the user happiness and business impact

- Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner

- Build automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance

Qualifications :

- Master's Degree in Computer Engineering or Applied Computer Sciences, a Ph.D. preferred

- You have 5 to 10 years of working experience in data analytics projects especially large data sets or performing large-scale quantitative analysis

- You have 2-3 years of established experience in handling BIG data projects using one or more of the following - R, Revolution R, Python, Hadoop/HDFS, SAS, Spark, Matlab, Java, SPSS (IBM), Map reduce, Hive etc.

- You are proficient at integrating and preparing large dynamic datasets, crafting specialized database and computing environments, and communicating results

- You are knowledgeable in discovery and data inference and exploration, as well as predictive and prescriptive analytics approaches

- You have practiced at applying analytical techniques and integrating ad hoc data sources

- You have specialized industry knowledge to aid in modelling business problems

- You are skilled in deploying a variety of techniques for using troves of information to reveal hidden insight that lies beneath the surface
