Data Scientist

Work Experience: 3-12 Years (Across level)

Company- Leading US based BFSI provider (Fortune 50)

Location- Bangalore

This will be the pilot batch for the Core Data Science setup with a single motive to take the analytics practice throughout the organization to the next level.

Key Responsibilities would include:

- Use machine learning, data mining, predictive modeling & statistical techniques to create new scalable models for business requirements

- Follow through successful implementation and model validation

- Understand complex business challenges, design scientific solutions, and synthesize insights while managing large datasets using machine learning or statistical modeling techniques

- Ensure strong and effective communication (both written and verbal) with colleagues and business leaders

Skills required would include:

- Master's or PhD with experience in the area of data science specializing in a relevant field such as Operations Research, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Text Mining, Artificial intelligence/Computer Science. Proficiency in scripting languages like R/Python

- Deep understanding of statistical modeling/predictive modelling/machine learning/ data mining/optimization and Big Data concepts.

- Strong analytical and quantitative problem solving ability.

- Experience in handling big data with basic data mining knowledge

- Good understanding & Implementation experience of optimization algorithms

- Expertise in Very strong command of logistic regression with knowledge of multiple other generalized linear modeling techniques.

Travel:

As the roots of the team will be in US, a bit of travel will be required in order to keep a perfect work flow and coordination between the team.
