Data Scientist- Based out of Mumbai

Key skills: Segmentation/text mining/predictive modeling/ building a decision tree

Job purpose:

To be a part of the broad team of analysts, data scientists and customer insight professionals who will develop both a deeper understanding of customers as well as recommend and drive action against the insights across all customer interaction touch points to generate incremental growth, engagement, and revenue.

The data scientist will implement advanced data science models to solve complex business problems. He / She will leverage both structured and unstructured data to understand and predict both customer and business behavior, and effectively propose and communicate actions based on the results.

Accountabilities:

- Apply advanced statistics and machine learning techniques to design, build, maintain, and improve segmentation, models, and analytical insights that effectively solve business problems and drive revenue.

- Expand the ability for the business to interact with its customers more relevantly through complex personalization techniques.

- Effectively communicate results and methodologies. Transform results to actionable reports, targeting algorithms, and personalization rules.

- Efficiently work with datasets from small to large and real-time data leveraging industry standard practices.

- Provide technical expertise in statistical analysis, mathematical modeling, and data mining/machine learning.

- Share best practices and learnings with colleagues and all areas of the business.

- Deliver projects on time and with the agreed scope.

- Build robust and reliable analyses and models.

- Perform analyses and projects with clarity and accuracy showing the broad understanding of the problem at hand.

- Conduct properly designed, statistically sound, analytical experiments to identify analytics benefits.

- Identify opportunities to improve models and help the business.

Education & main skills:

- Graduate degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) from a good university in a relevant field (math, physics, statistics, computational science, computer science)

- Expert knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical software (SAS, SPSS, etc.), programming languages (R, Python, etc.), and statistical methods

- Working knowledge of databases and SQL
