Data Control Analyst - Futures & Options Clearing

Process Overview-

Global Markets Operations & Middle Office provides operations support to the Global Markets Business of BAML. Key Business activities include back office and middle office operations related to securities, derivatives, futures, options, currencies (FX) and commodities. Key functions in the middle office include trade control, product control and balance sheet management. While in the operations groups the key functions are Trade Processing & settlement, Inventory Management, Cash Management, Asset Services, Collateral Management, Reconciliation, Client & Product Data management.

Job Description-

The Data Control Analyst is a critical role with F&O Operations. The Data Control Team is regarded as the internal experts of our core back office system (GMI) and as such is heavily involved in many critical tasks and remediation efforts. On a daily basis the team analyzes and resolves complex issues, communicates with senior leaders, and assists in maintaining the integrity of our systems.

Responsibilities - 

- Provide day to day help-desk style support to all levels of GMI users

- Advise partners across the business on best sourcing and use of GMI data

- Participate in project teams directing best-practice usage of GMI within BAML's systemic and operational framework and in line with industry standards

- Maintain GMI system in-balance condition through the daily research and resolution of out-of-balance entries

- Escalation point for front-line technology support teams for both GMI and BAML internal systems

- Review technology testing results and provide sign-off, or direction to the appropriate user community for review, as necessary

- Partner with Technology and vendor in troubleshooting, researching, staging, testing, and resolving of GMI system defects

- Consult for Technology on the design and implementation of new internally developed systems, implementation of GMI system changes, and batch processing management

- Data guardian of all system level parameters within GMI

- Complete set up of new products, currencies, and exchanges within GMI

- Supports entry of one-off static data for other operations teams

- Maintain step by step procedures for all Data Control functions

- Find opportunities for increased efficiency and accuracy within the day to day work

- Participate in various projects and initiatives

- Resolve various Ad-hoc requests

- Adhere to all policies, procedures and regulations

Requirements-

- Education- Commerce Graduate

- Experience Range- 8-10 Years

Mandatory skills-

- Investment Banking Experience with a deep understanding of the FIS/SunGard GMI application

- Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders and peers, both verbal and written

- Strong analytical ability, must be able to identify and resolve complex issues

- Ability to work both independently and within a team setting

- Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio & Outlook

- Strong knowledge of investment banking, capital markets & Derivatives

- Excellent organizational skills are required with the ability to prioritize daily workload, work accurately and efficiently under pressure

- To be flexible in their attitude and approach, and be willing to work extra hours during the week with overflow of volume and to provide cover for holidays planned and unplanned.

- Flexible to work in night shifts

- Maintain established productivity levels as per SLA
