Data Architect - BI/DW - Startup

Position (Full Time): Data Architect

Location: Bangalore, India

Opportunity

We’re looking for someone who wants the challenge of working on developing actionable and highly
effective analytics solution to solve real business problems.

- Play key role in design, development and deployment of Analytical Applications in a hosted environment.

- Experience customer requirements first hand and design solutions which go beyond traditional BI solutions.

- Identify opportunities for process optimization, process redesign, or development of new Analytics.

- Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

- Work closely with product managers, engineering teams, quality assurance, and other teams to deliver the Analytic product.

- Work in a high paced and rewarding environment with bleeding edge technologies and innovative concepts

Required Skills / Experience:

- Bachelors Degree, with 8+ years related information systems experience and 5+ years in Data warehousing/ Business Intelligence

- Expertise with Data Analysis, Data Modeling, Data Architecture and Data warehousing, concepts, terminology, and architecture.

- Experience with various business intelligence technologies (applications, databases, ETL, reporting, etc.).

- Experience with OLAP

- Expertise in designing logical and physical multi-tenant DB Schema and performance tuning of ETL / DB etc.

- Expert understanding of data analysis, data modeling, and ETL tools. Detailed knowledge of capabilities of multiple reporting tools (e.g. COGNOS, Business Objects, etc.).

- Excellent SQL skills and in-depth understanding of database technologies.

- Able to translate user requirements into functional or product requirements and be able to document those.

- Training is critical part of Implementation process; candidate should have had experience preparing training material as well as delivering effective training to the end users.

- Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.

- Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks.

- Excellent team player, able to work with virtual and global cross functional teams.

Interpersonal Skills

- "Self-starter" attitude and the ability to make decisions independently

- Work closely with Developers, QA, and Product Managers to understand requirements An effective communicator, able to clearly articulate ideas and inspire others for action; clear, succinct and persuasive at all levels, including executives, with solid business acumen

- Play key role in Data Modeling, multi-tenant DB design, development and deployment in a hosted environment.

- Collect customer requirements first hand and design solutions which go beyond traditional BI solutions on Cloud/SaaS environment

- Able to operate at highly varying levels of abstraction (business strategy, product strategy, technical design, and implementation)

- Ability to evaluate technology options, including build / buy / partner options

- Great written and presentation skills
