Data Analytics/Data Science Professional - BFSI

Location : Bangalore

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Model development & Deep-dive Strategic Analysis:

- Data extraction: Extract data from appropriate sources in a complex warehousing / Hadoop environment. Require in-depth knowledge of data elements.

- Data processing: Perform complex data processing (e.g. merging, sorting, data transformations) using R, Access, or other ETL tools on PC

- Profiling and analysis: Combine in-depth business knowledge, insights, and techniques such as data visualization, cross-tabs, statistical tests, and data mining techniques to identify Workforce insights, behavioral trends, Associate Experience and retention opportunities

- Model development: Apply standard and cutting-edge techniques (statistical modeling, data mining, predictive analytics, machine learning, and optimization) to identify drivers of a business metric. Compare techniques using validation to arrive at the best model

- Model scoring and business applications of modeling/analytics:

- Insert developed models into the scoring process

- Act as a consultant to the larger team and HR sponsors on usage of models

- Directing and delivering solutions:

- Project and time management skills with an ability to set and maintain priorities in a multi-task environment

- Ability to achieve distinct results in a complex matrix environment & to influence action without direct authority through collaborative, consultative approach & strong relationship building skills

- Works in a team with other resources on projects, including providing coaching on workforce problems, guidance on methodologies, quality assurance of results, managing deliverables and presentations of results

Experience, Skills and Qualifications :

- Subject matter expert of Decision Sciences areas (predictive modeling, data mining, deep-dive strategic analysis)

- Expertise in R, Python, Hadoop, base SAS, SAS EG, and SQL

- Predictive analytics techniques (Survival Analysis, Logistic regression etc.) will be an added advantage

- Advanced statistical training including experimental design and statistical analysis

- Familiar with data in warehouse environment

- Familiarity with DV Tools like D3, Tableau

Education and Experience :

- Post graduate degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or similar quantitative discipline or MBA from a premier school

- 3-5 years of experience in data modeling and predictive analytics, having a flair for Quantitative Analysis with software tools & packages like R, Python, SAS and SQL would be considered.
