Department / Role Overview:

Mortgage Back securities:

- The business unit oversees investment management activities including the raising of new debt and equity capital, the formation of new ventures, the strategic acquisition and disposition of homes and the management and operation of Co's portfolio investments.

- The Merchant Banking business unit collaborates closely with the other business units, including the Development and Operator business units, as part of the fully integrated platform.

- The Merchant Banking division is seeking to expand its global footprint in Mumbai, India, with a goal of establishing a team of professionals working across multi-disciplinary functional areas in close collaboration with U.S.-based personnel.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide reporting and data analysis support to the Mortgage Back Securities (MBS) trading desk.

- Own and maintain existing trading, reconciliation, and compliance reports.

- Collaborate directly with peers and business leaders in developing descriptive, diagnostic, predictive analysis, and prescriptive analytics solutions.

- Tackle complex business problems by converting raw data into meaningful and actionable business insights.

- Utilize Microsoft SQL Server for extraction and analysis of data from multiple sources with demonstrated ability to effectively decipher, analyze and report data.

- Develop reports and dashboards using Tableau, SQL Server Reporting Services or other tools for internal and external customers.

- Leverage analytic problem-solving skills in working with large disparate, datasets to report portfolio operational metrics and performance.

- Present findings and recommendations to business leadership

- Assist with preparation and automation of recurring /ad-hoc reporting assignments.

Skills:

Required Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in management information systems, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or related quantitative discipline.

- At least 4 years' experience analyzing data, drawing conclusions and making recommendations; financial services / investment banking industry experience is preferred.

- Knowledge of fixed income securities and related metrics; prior experience working with middle office or back-office teams preferred.

- Experience working with Bloomberg Terminal; knowledge and experience working with Bloomberg Gateway data feeds is a huge plus!

- Strong SQL query writing and optimization skills required. Experience working in a Microsoft SQL Server environment is preferred.

- Experience with creating and presenting management dashboards and reports.

- Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Web FOCUS, TIBCO Spotfire, QlikView, MicroStrategy. Experience with Tableau is preferred.

- Strong Microsoft Excel skills

- Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment while meeting established timelines.

"Nice-to-have" Experience:

- Knowledge of at least one other data analytics programming language such as Python or R. Experience with Python and analytics libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib etc. is a plus.

- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL concepts is a plus.

- Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Hive is a plus.

- Familiarity with SCRUM or similar agile discipline is a plus.

- Knowledge of advanced data science concepts such as machine learning and AI is a plus
