Cyber Security Architecture and Engineering

Position Description

- The individual will be responsible for management and oversight of security design and planning of enterprise-wide networks, technology infrastructure, middleware, platforms, and applications to ensure appropriate levels of risk.

- Supports the assessment of security architecture to determine areas of vulnerability or flawed design. Defines the "as-is" state of security architecture.

- In alignment with enterprise architecture and strategic business objectives, implements procedures to migrate security architecture to the desired future state.

- Provides guidance on security architecture solutions and designs for key projects.

- Implements best practice procedures to ensure uniform security architecture throughout Application Development, Operations, and Infrastructure.

- Supports the definition and selection of enterprise security standards including tools, technology, applications, and processes. Implements solutions as required.

- Participates in the review and approval of enterprise architecture frameworks and guiding principles. Ensures that business strategy, IT enterprise security and implementation are aligned.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college or university; Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred; CISSP preferred.

- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive security architecture and monitoring experience; preferably within a within a large global organization.

- Minimum of ten years in leading IT security resources.

- The candidate must be up-to-speed with current and emerging infrastructure technology including, Unified Communications, Network and Security, Servers, Desktops, Virtualization, Cloud Computing and Storage in order to significantly contribute to engineering cross disciplinary solutions meeting Infrastructure and Line of Business requirements.

- Experience designing and implementing secure architecture and reference architectures.

- Detailed understanding of secure network and application design concepts.

- Previous experience implementing and designing security monitoring and incident response functions preferred.

- Understanding of network design principles with and vast knowledge on network and information security.

- Remain current on regulatory environments, industry standards, data security frameworks, and best practices

- Provide architecture and guidelines focusing on the security protection and vulnerability identification of the existing security infrastructure gear setup.

- Stay current with the state of the art and technology in critical infrastructure / information system security and provide technical white papers
