We are looking for seasoned analysts to support the responsible investment research (equity) team of one of our global AM clients, renowned for its differentiated and thought provoking research practices. This role is the closest alternative to front-end buy-side work: - Deepen equity and research skills to prepare investment theses and generate differentiated trade ideas - Build expertise on responsible investment / ESG themes and present them to portfolio managers - Move up a steep learning curve - high degree of ownership and independence in evaluating underlying credits and recommending trade ideas - Directly interact with management team of companies or rating agencies to accelerate your understanding on company/sector - Get an opportunity to travel onsite and work closely with the onshore team and understand/experience the investment decision making process Role description: The broad spectrum of work may include the following: - Analysis of publicly-traded companies on their environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance and the management of their respective ESG risks and opportunities - Interact with company management / investor relations team on various ESG issues / concerns - Support and develop tools for the effective integration of ESG analysis into the client's stock selection and valuation process across asset classes - Prepare presentation materials and present them to internal stakeholders including PMs / CIOs - Identify ESG risks and solutions for companies in the portfolio - Develop portfolio management/screening tools - Produce thought leadership research exploring the business, or macro-economic, case for ESG analysis and integration - Help draft shareholder proposals and proxy alerts, when required Preferred Background: - Educational background: MBA/CA/CFA or Bachelors / Masters in a related field of study (environment sciences) - Work experience: 2-8 years (equity research experience and/or exposure to ESG research would be preferred) - Job Location: Pune The candidate should have strong knowledge of fundamental analysis, an ability to identify trade ideas, good awareness of global financial and macroeconomic trends, strong communication, independent and decisive mindset, and ability to think out of the box. Working knowledge of Bloomberg is preferred.
