Job title : Research Analyst / Senior Research Analyst - Counterparty Credit Risk Assessment (Financial Institutions)

Location: Pune / Mumbai

Experience

2 - 6 years- experience in assessing counterparty credit risk for global financial institutions (banks / insurance companies / asset managers / broker-dealers / funds)

Job Duties

- The role entails supporting credit risk management teams of our clients in counterparty credit risk assessment of their global financial institutions portfolio.

- Analyse economic, industry-specific, regulatory and fundamental drivers of entities in the portfolio.

- Prepare detailed credit risk assessment reports and financial spreads, and assign credit ratings on the assigned portfolio.

- Should be able to defend his/her views on the counterparty / covered entity when challenged by senior stakeholders and/or clients.

- Prepare surveillance notes. Track market events closely and assess implications on the covered portfolio.

- Support project managers on ad hoc projects across the credit risk value chain.

- Other activities may include preparing industry and country research reports, maintaining and updating financial models and company/industry specific databases and preparing news flows.

- The role may also require training and mentoring colleagues on specific aspects of credit risk. It may also require reviewing the deliverables of juniors/peers.

Qualification

CA/MBA Finance/CFA/FRM

Skills and Traits Required

- Minimum prior experience in fundamental analysis (credit risk / credit research / equity research) of global financial institutions (banks / insurance / asset management) is mandatory. An understanding of global banking regulations would be preferable.

- Strong understanding of core finance and accounting concepts.

- Excellent report writing and communication skills.

- Ability to communicate analytical thoughts in a crisp, concise and precise manner.

- Strong inter-personal skills and ability to participate/contribute as a team player.

- Willingness to learn and excel in a competitive environment.

- Should be willing to go the extra mile when tight deadlines need to be met.

- Willingness to operate in a dynamic environment that may entail multi-tasking.
