CRISIL - Manager - Wholesale Credit - Quality Assurance

Skills:

- Min. 10+ years relevant industry experience including managing a team, function, strong communication skills, presentation skills, ability to manage and deal senior stakeholders, perform controls testing, quality assurance reviews, SME wholesale credit risk management. Relevant experience in a banking, lending audits or internal audit, wholesale lending quality assurance loan review/credit risk analysis or quality assurance review function at an investment or large commercial bank

- Quality Assurance: Proven knowledge and experience on designing and implementing robust Quality Assurance framework from initial assessment of concerns and monitoring strategy, execution of scripts and procedures, development of housing infrastructure and database maintenance, reporting to senior management of observed findings

- Wholesale Lending: Strong grasp of the ICG wholesale lending processes so as to evaluate findings within the Quality Assurance process, provide a credible challenge to groups subject to review, determine materiality, and partner with senior stakeholders for ongoing improvement, problem detection, and sustainable remediation

- Experience of products within private banking / Credit and spread products/ Equity /Derivatives/capital markets /Treasury /

Responsibilities:

Institutional Credit Management (ICM) is a critical component of the banks First Line of defense for wholesale and counterparty credit risk management and works with Independent Risk teams to ensure best-in-class risk and controls, as well as client responsiveness. Key responsibilities of the group include credit analysis, documentation, risk identification, exposure monitoring and stress testing. ICM coordinates with credit management groups across ICG businesses approximately to ensure full alignment on business and regulatory goals, as well as consistency and best practices where appropriate.

Within ICM, the Wholesale Credit Quality Assurance function (IBQA) verifies that established standards and processes are followed and consistently applied. ICM Management uses the results of the quality assurance reviews to assess the quality of the group's policies, procedures, programs, and practices as relates to wholesale lending. The results help management identify operational weaknesses, risks associated with the function, training needs, and process deficiencies.

- Updating the Business-level QAR Report templates to align with evolution of the QA Program, changes in the QA Framework, and changes in their respective wholesale lending organizations

- Updating test scripts to align with the evolution of policies and standards as applicable

- Creating quarterly QAR Plans for their functions

- Obtaining approval for the quarterly QAR Plans and any changes to the Plans from the Global Head of Wholesale Credit Quality Assurance

- Approving QAR Report templates created or updated by QA Reviewers

- Ensuring execution of QARs according to QAR Plans and the QA Program Operating Procedures

- Managing and reviewing the work of the QA Reviewers and QA Guest Reviewers

- Executing complex QARs, as applicable

- Recommending corrective actions based on the results of their QARs

- Synthesizing QAR results and preparing quarterly Scorecards

- Hiring for the QA Program

- Training, mentoring, coaching and evaluating QA Reviewers

- Meetings with Business-level Senior Management and Staff to communicate areas in the respective frameworks that have resulted in inconsistencies in application of the methodology

- Providing feedback on new or updates to existing assessment document templates and other templates used throughout their functional team
