Crisil - Manager/Lead Analyst - Editor - Central Editing Desk

The Role: The Central Editing Desk has overall responsibility for editing and publishing content for all S& P Global Platts' real-time services as well as extensive involvement with other Platts publications and activities. CED editors are responsible for ensuring the quality and timeliness of our real-time news, analysis and market commentary output across international service lines covering a wide range of energy and commodity sectors.You will be part of one of the most vibrant and busiest teams supporting Platts in providing real-time (Asian hours) editing support on real-time stories, commentaries, rationales, and analyses.

You will get an opportunity to learn about all the commodities that are covered by Platts in Asia Pacific and will be in the forefront of any changes in the industry and the market. You will be in a constant learning mode.

Responsibilities:

Ensuring the quality and timeliness of real-time news, analysis and market commentary output across international service lines covering a wide range of energy and commodity sectors.

Process copy and work with reporters in a positive and constructive manner with a tremendous amount of strength and patience.

Central Editing Desk Editors to maintain integrity and quality of those commentaries and, as with news stories, to act as the gatekeeper," the final pair of eyes on the material before it is published and dispatched to subscribers

The Impact: Quality, Reliability and Accuracy of real-time news is an absolute priority to Platts, the integrity of the price data and the commentaries explaining activity in the market and supporting Platts assessments is of paramount importance

The Team / The Business: The team has to constantly assess and prioritize incoming copy, agree how to split the workload, and carry out the editing tasks as quickly and efficiently as possible, all without losing sight of the need to ensure the high quality of the finished content.

Must Have/ Eligibility:

The ability to edit a high volume of wide-ranging, complex, often sensitive copy, at speed and under pressure.

The ability to apply the tenets of good journalism while editing content. This means, at the minimum, ensuring that the content is clear and concise, adheres to Platts' house style, has the proper sourcing and attribution, and is free of plagiarism and libel concerns.

Engaging with reporters and freelancers, helping writers develop stories and providing extensive feedback about submitted copy.

Working knowledge of energy and commodities markets and industries is highly advantageous.
