Title : Research Analyst / Senior Research Analyst- Credit Analysis

Qualification: CA / MBA/ CFA/ FRM

Job Duties:

- The role comprises supporting onshore analysts on credit assessment of various entities, primarily financial institutions (FIG , BFSI)

- The tasks involve undertaking research and analysis of financial entities to assess their credit strength and assign a credit score. This would require a thorough analysis of the entity’s quantitative factors such as funding structure and leverage, revenue streams, profitability, asset quality, concentration of business exposures; and qualitiative factors such as quality of management, business strategy, regulatory environment and macroeconomic factors. The candidate should also be able to override the rating through a SIFI adjustment

- It also involves preparing a detailed credit assessment report to justify the assigned credit scores

- Other activities may include preparing industry and country research reports, maintaining and updating financial models and maintain company/industry specific databases, preparing news flows and tracking credit events for a portfolio of credits. It may also involve covenent analysis and valuation of fixed income securities issued by the companies under the client’s coverage

- The role would also require training and guiding colleagues on specific aspects of credit research

Skills Required:

Should have 1 to 3 years of experience specifically in credit research and analysis

- Good understanding of finance and accounting concepts

- Excellent understanding of creating and maintaining financial models (spreads), forecasting models

- Ability to identify key characteristics and drivers of an industry

- Credit assessment and analysis, including business, financial and management profiling

- Ability to identify key risks and related mitigants related to an entity

- Good understanding of the credit rating scale of major rating agencies. Ability to rate private entities / unrated companies based on ratings of comparable companies
