High-Level Key Responsibility Areas -&nbsp; 1. Driving end-to-end quality management for the Editing division, with the help of Operations Managers, to ensure client delight and retention 2. Establishing service standards for clients and promoting client requirements 3. Responsible for the development of the operational talent pool by optimizing the skills of the team and ensuring timely succession planning such that individual talent is recognized 4. Reviewing overall team performance (appraisals and bonuses) and KPIs; aligning team with the company's vision 5. Driving high-level meetings and improvement of quality/efficiency of operations 6. Building and implementing team strategy, plus regularly identifying redundant tasks to improve operations 7. Imparting training for core processes/protocols and for honing soft skills 8. Designing and publishing team metrics (data and trend analysis) to track team performance at an organizational level 9. Identifying and implementing operational best practices through interaction with other core teams such as the Client Servicing and Project Management teams 10. Hiring decisions and attrition management for the reporting teams Skill requirements: Excellent leadership, people management, communication, and influencing skills at a senior level - Excellent spoken and written English skills - Ability to manage and influence key stakeholders - Candidates with prior experience in the academic publishing industry will be preferred - Effective time management skills - Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment - Passion toward ensuring client delight - Excellent client focus - Mentoring/training/coaching abilities - Passionate about learning while working with language - Ability to take on responsibilities beyond defined role Qualification and Experience Requirements: Must have: - Postgraduate and above degree in Life Sciences/Biomedical Sciences/Physical Sciences (Masters or PhD) - 8+ years experience in academic publishing/language services/R&amp;D/e-Learning - 5+ years experience in handling a mid- to large-size team - Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, &amp; PPT) - Good understanding of MIS Preference will be given to candidates who have: - Published scholarly papers in academic journals - Knowledge of the STEM industry - Experience in working with journals and publishers - Experience in 2 or more of these functions in the academic publishing realm: editing, manuscript quality checks, editorial training, complaints management, and client satisfaction
