Tasks and Responsibilities

Strategic Objectives/Business Responsibilities

- This candidate is responsible for implementing the charitable giving of Credit Suisse in India, driving employee volunteering initiatives and promoting positive internal and external communication. This candidate will work closely with India Country Management and the APAC Corporate Citizenship team to increase and meet volunteering targets including skilled based volunteering and seek opportunities to enhance Credit Suisse's positive branding that will benefit the business. This position provides support towards the 2% CSR Mandate of the India Companies Act for various philanthropic initiatives.

Tasks

- Source, assess, evaluate and conduct due diligence on philanthropy grant proposals and prepare recommendations to the India Philanthropy Committee

- Monitor and manage philanthropy grant projects through regular updates, report submissions and site visits

- Plan and prepare for Philanthropy Committee meetings where proposals are being reviewed and decisions on grants are made.

- Review, conduct due diligence, evaluate and process volunteer grant applications and deliver accurate payment instruction to accounts payable.

- Develop and execute volunteering initiatives and ideas to drive more participation from employees through working with Division management and Country management.

- Fulfill all volunteering data reporting requirements for Regional Global Corporate Citizenship and the India Philanthropy Committee

- Create internal communications related to the promotion of volunteering activities such as memoranda and posters

- Liaise directly with local charities and internal volunteering team leaders to coordinate volunteering events

- Work on presentations as when needed on APAC Corporate Citizenship and India Philanthropy

- Work with team members to populate and maintain the APAC Corporate Citizenship website

- Contribute to communication initiatives as requested (website, newsletter, reports).

- Ensure close collaboration with Global Initiatives, Regions, Foundations and Business Management to strengthen the India CSR initiative and to leverage best practices across

- Organize Credit Suisse campaign for the country on disaster relief responses including staff communication, relief responses, fundraising campaign, approval on matching grant and selecting the charity partner for reconstruction and recovery in the disaster areas

- Assist team members to work with finance/ controlling team to ensure to up-to-date budget report, accrual submissions and year-end budget

- Develop a strong network within CSR sector and with relevant local authorities and represent Credit Suisse in relevant sector forums and events

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor Degree or Masters degree in Social Science, Politics, Law, Economics, Public Policy

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Strong leader and team player - but also - self-starter- able to work with minimal supervision

- Persuasive and self-confident presenter

- Strong experience in program strategy and project management

- Experience working with non-profit organizations is a plus

- Established connections and relationships in India non-profit community a plus

- Ability to manage senior management with confidence

- Very detail oriented in managing small and large scale events
