- Conduct in-depth financial analysis of real estate loan applicants, including reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports.
- Assess the creditworthiness of borrowers and evaluate their ability to service debt obligations.
- Analyze real estate market conditions, property appraisals, and property cash flow to determine the level of risk associated with each loan application.
- Utilize credit scoring models and risk assessment tools to quantify and communicate credit risk.
- Perform comprehensive due diligence on borrowers, including background checks and legal reviews, to ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to resolve any potential issues.
- Work closely with loan officers to structure real estate loans that align with the bank's risk tolerance and lending policies.
- Provide recommendations on appropriate loan terms and conditions.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare accurate and complete credit documentation packages, ensuring they adhere to bank policies and regulatory standards.
- Stay updated on banking regulations and guidelines relevant to real estate lending and ensure compliance.
Communication and Reporting:
- Communicate credit decisions and recommendations effectively to internal stakeholders, including senior management, loan officers, and underwriters.
- Prepare regular credit reports and portfolio updates for management review.
- Monitor the performance of real estate loans in the bank's portfolio, identifying early signs of credit deterioration.
- Collaborate with loan workout and recovery teams when necessary to address non-performing loans
