Credit Analyst

Work Location - Oman

Strategic :

- Perform annual written credit reviews with improvement recommendations

- Contribute towards the development of policies and procedures to deliver high quality, efficient and seamless credit process

- Stay abreast of the market conditions and developing industry trends

Operational :

- Prepare detailed written investment proposal memorandums for Unit Head's review and approval

- Provide detailed credit analysis of borrowers and periodic recommendations based on historical and projected operating performance

- Monitor portfolio credit risk limit guidelines and recommend modifications

- Ensure all KYCs are updated and BCSBs are adjusted on quarterly basis

- Monitor clients DPD, deferrals, and resolve to pay

- Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as audit, compliance, legal, operations and risk management to streamline cross-functional workflows

- Ensure client credit files are updated

- Timely processing of the proposals as per TAT to

Organizational :

- Keep self and the team informed of the applicable regulatory, legal and compliance guidelines

- Assist with technical and functional training of team members

- Research and develop knowledge base on specific target industries

Education/ Qualification : Required : Bachelor's degree/P.G in Banking, Economics, Actuarial or related fields.

Experience :

- Required : Total of 6+ years of experience in banking and similar fields, out of which 4 years should be in credit/risk analysis roles

- Preferred : Experience in and knowledge of the GCC market

- Knowledge of credit risk, market risk, operational risk, compliance, and Internal Audit functions

Additional Skills :

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- In-depth technical knowledge of products and services

- Sound business acumen and judgement

- Advanced knowledge of the banking industry best practices in Oman
