Country Sales Manager- Optical Sensing/Lab Equipment Company

Reports to -India CEO & Global Distributor Head

Individual Contributor role

About the client- It is a rapidly growing, diversified optical sensing company and a global leader in solutions for optical spectroscopy. It brings its expertise in the science of photonics and its rich experience in engineering to bear on many applications that brings the wonders of photonics to life in the real-world.

About the role- The incumbent is responsible for developing business opportunities across multiple segments and delivering sustained profitable revenue growth through distributor sales as well as direct OEM sales, both in the academic market and the industrial market. The person is required to focus on the Industrial market to develop it, while supporting the Academic market and OEM market.

Responsibilities:

Industrial markets

- Fully understand the fundamental propositions and applications of the core technologies and products to explore and identify potential business opportunities in multiple market segments relevant for India, ranging from life sciences, chemicals, commodities, textiles, consumer goods, lighting, agriculture, food processing, environment monitoring, oil & gas, energy, defence, police and forensic sciences

- Formulate a sales and marketing strategy and plan (involving product solution development and customer value proposition) to develop the market segments and opportunities for long term sustainable business success

- Build an effective channel (distributor) network to access opportunities, deliver and support business development and sustainable revenue growth

- Use market intelligence to generate a list of target customer pipeline in the planned segments and successfully execute customer development and conversion process both for channel network and direct OEM business

- Formulate a strategy and plan for direct OEM business development and support.

- Formulate and execute a strategy for effective customer and sales support for all markets

Academic Markets

- Generate a strong understanding of the academic market and formulate a strategy for sales and profitability for growing the existing business base sustainably.

- Manage, support and train the distributors / channel partners within the academic market

Key Accounts

- Handle OEM or Custom opportunities that due to its complexity or time investment cannot be handled by a distributor direct.

Requirements-

Educational Qualification-

- Bachelor of Technology / Engineering ( Instrumentation/ Electronics / Mechanical)

- Diploma / MBA in Sales is an added advantage

- Knowledge of different optical spectroscopy technologies is an added advantage

Total Experience of 8-16 years

- Minimum 6 years of Sales Experience

- Preferred : Experience in Optical Spectroscopy/Lab Equipment - 3 years

- Existing relationships with few Academic and industrial customers would be an added advantage

- Experience in delivering technical training would be an added advantage
