The country manager is a member of the regional leadership team specifically accountable for overall business delivery and responsible for the profitable performance of the India business. As the country leader this role is wholly responsible for creating a culture within the office that aligns to our values and for the effective and motivating management of employees.

The country manager has a key role in leading existing external client engagements. The role needs to work collaboratively with the regional leadership team, divisions, and functions to grow external India clients in line with business plans and common priorities. Our client in India continues to evolve and expand its remit in delivering internal services and support to the business the country manager also continues to fulfill a critical role of being the most senior relationship owner representing the India business globally with equivalent senior level peers who are internal client stakeholders.

The role is expected to set-out annual and long term budgets and plans for the business. This may require investment planning into the India business from time to time to manage on-going and future.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Own the P&L for the country having aspects of direct but also shared accountability in a function matrix organisation environment.

- Work with all stakeholders to develop the combination of products and services best suited to the market.

- Ensure that we maintain the internal capability to deliver our existing and developing customer offerings.

- Develop and drive a high performing team, providing inspirational leadership

- Managing a balanced overall business operation ensuring accurate on-time and professional delivery of services, senior level liaison with external and internal clients, financial and people management

- Continually evaluate business performance, enhancing organisational design and business processes in order to meet and where possible exceed service delivery and commercial targets

- Track market and competitor trends to identify business and proposition threats and opportunities relating to group propositions and products within region

- Make a strategic contribution to global product / proposition development and evolution, representing local market needs, opportunities and perspective

- Develop and project our clients identity and reputation in the local market, act as a figurehead for the business, through engagement and participation in industry groups, trade / media functions, other marketing and awareness activities, and networking with key influencers

Knowledge, skills and experience required

- In depth experience of a LOYALTY BUSINESS and operational management experience gained agency and/or client side

- Experience of working as a Country Manager or senior leader in a similar sized international company with a track record of delivering success.

- Overall 15 years business experience would be expected as a minimum for a role of this seniority

- Able to work effectively in a complex matrix organisation environment with multiple interfaces at a central, regional, and office level.

- Solid people and relationship management and development experience, working with both clearly defined and structured organization as well as matrix relationships.

- Fluency in English, articulate and able to convincingly present complex ideas and concepts in verbal and written form

- Good understanding of operational delivery and successful track record in client management

- Strong relationship / network manager, able to successfully collaborate with peers, executives, staff and external contacts as part of a global matrix organization

- A dynamic and inspiring senior leader with proven success at managing delivery, performance and profitability on major projects

- Growth/ profit focused with proven ability to develop and maintain clear business processes and practices which facilitate accurate and quality delivery of services

- Excellent leadership skills; able to inspire, develop and motivate our people and lead cultural and organisational changes / developments

- Having a can-do, problem-solving attitude with a sociable personality

- Strong influencing skills

- Ability to inspire confidence and create trust
