Country General Manager - India

Reporting to: President of Sales, APJ
Job Purpose
- Manage, mentor and motivate a small sales team to exceed plans, quotas and customer satisfaction goals
- Identify sales opportunities and prepare sales plans for India
- Meeting the quarterly business plan or sales quota
- Prepare the sales team to produce customer profiles and account management plans (at least for the top 20 accounts)
- Work closely with the Global Sales Leader to complete quotations, business proposals and tender responses; observe and follow the discount rules; negotiate price and contract terms
- Updating sales forecasting system accurately as appropriate
- Establish, manage and expand the SI and channel partners in the region to meet the company objectives as well as to grow the business by leveraging the partners- resources and networks
- Work closely with technical presales and consultants on customer, new opportunities and technical aspects of proposals, trials and installations
- Provide timely and accurate management reporting
- Identify opportunities in existing customer base
- Liaise with delivery staff/SIs/Channels to ensure services delivery capability
- Responsible for growing mind-set and product awareness to existing and new customers in the territory.
- Promote business relationships with customers and prospective customers
- Promote, develop and expand the branding and footprint in the market
- Establish and execute both the business and marketing plans for the regions
- Monitor and be aware of competitors- product and services strategies
- Keep up-to-date on all major Clients Software products and solutions
- Manage internal and external customer expectations by keeping channels of communication open at all times
Requirements:
- 10 -20 yrs of total experience
- Out of which more than 5 years of relevant sales experience preferably in the IT Software Industry with major multi-national companies
- 3-5 years sales management experience
- Experience in a variety of sales roles, sales supporting roles (pre-sales, inside sales, partner and /or OEM support) prior to career in field sales and account management is preferred
- An established software sales background with a proven track record of success selling Solutions-focused enterprise applications into Fortune 1000 companies is required
- General understanding of IT trends and Software technologies such as Lifecycle Quality Management, Web Services, Java, .NET, Cloud Computing, etc
- Knowledge of the Modernisation and Mainframe area
- Ability to dig out and understand customer interests/requirements, and transfer to sales opportunities
- C-level contacts, top down approach, able to gain sponsorship from customers and internal executives
- Able to analyse financial acumen to identify key drivers/customer criteria
- Education in Software Engineering or Information System/Technology would be an advantage
