Purpose

- Responsible for execution and support of the cost accounting function; develop mechanisms for computation of costs including Activity Based Allocation.

- Design and Upkeep of ABC Costing Module to generate profitability reports and analysis.

- Support initiatives to improve P&L improvements based on insights gained from ABC Costing and Analysis

Key Responsibilities

Operational

- Support Controlling function in formulating the costing strategy and systems for all the products and services in line with the business objectives

- Support in the identification and setup of organization-wide cost control measures

- Responsible for implementation of the various parts (e.g. customer cost allocation, pricing module) within the Costing module as per timelines

- Execution of the process of updation of masters (e.g. operating costs incurred for various OD pairs) through pro-active coordination with the operations teams in the various regions

- Implement parameters for effective measurement of costs incurred in business operations such as operating cost per kilometer (OCPK), operating cost per movement (OCPM) etc.; drive refinements to the parameters on a periodic basis as per the business need of the organization

- Analysis of various costs incurred by the company on the provision of various types of products to serve as an input for pricing; Also analyze costs incurred for various customers to identify any specific costs to be specifically allocated to certain customers

- Support Pricing function in pricing methodoly, especially for RFQs for key customers and pricing opportunities

- Support development of Pricing tools based on cost allocations in line with business strategy and cost drivers

- Conduct the timely and accurate valuation, analysis and reporting of direct and indirect costs across the organization

- Establish effective mechanisms to monitor fixed costs, inventory costs, operating costs etc. incurred by the organization in the conduct of business operations and track variances on a periodic basis

- Support to the Product Category Heads and Product Heads within the Sales Planning & Support team in terms of providing necessary data and information to aid in the process of product pricing

- Provide support in carbon footprint accounting to be provided to customers as per the defined requirements of the customers

- Responsible for conduct of process of analyzing and providing MIS pertaining to costs incurred, on the basis of the defined parameters; Ensure timely preparation and submission of relevant cost data to the management in the required format for efficient decision making

- Interface with cost auditors for undertaking statutory cost audit; Review observations by the cost auditors and ensure necessary corrective actions are undertaken

Key Result Areas and Key Performance Indicators

1. Execution and implementation of costing module - Implementation of identified parts (e.g. customer cost allocation, pricing module) within the ABC Costing module as per timelines

- Updation of the implemented parts of the ABC costing module (for e.g. in terms of updation of masters, introduction of product feature driven analysis, establishment of overhead costing allocation, review of definition of OCPK and OCPM, etc.) as per plan

2. Timely and accurate generation of reports - Adherence to set timelines for generation of costing reports

- No. of errors in preparation of report in excess of defined thresholds

- Adherence to timelines for accounting of carbon footprint to be provided to customers

3. Costing data analysis - Adherence to timelines for preparation and submission of costing data as per business requirements

- Adherence to timelines for analysis on costing data as per business requirements

4. Support setup of cost control measures - Number of recommendations for cost control across products and regions on the basis of analysis of data

- % of cost savings achieved due to implementation of suggestions
