Cost Accounting Manager

Responsibilities:

Cost Accounting Leadership:

- Oversee and manage all aspects of plant cost accounting, ensuring adherence to established principles, systems, and procedures.

- Lead a team of cost accounting professionals (if applicable).

- Develop and implement cost accounting strategies aligned with corporate objectives.

- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all cost data.

Costing & Inventory Management:

- Maintain and control product costing based on the standard costing method.

- Analyze inventory movement and performance, calculating Obsolete & Excess (E&O) inventory reserves based on corporate policies.

- Work closely with production and other departments to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.

Cost Analysis & Auditing:

- Conduct independent cost audits and support internal and external audit teams during site visits.

- Analyze cost data to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

- Generate insightful reports and recommendations to support informed decision-making by management.

Additional Skills:

- Experience with QAD or similar manufacturing accounting software is a plus.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve cost accounting issues.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various departments.

- Proactive and results-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in managerial roles within plant cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.

- Thorough knowledge of cost accounting principles, systems, and procedures.

- Strong understanding of standard costing methodologies
