Role : Strategy & Review, Strategy & Chairman's office

Strategy & governance Reporting to : VP - Strategy & Chairman

Office Location : Ahmedabad

Job Objective :

- The Chairman's Office on key aspects related to strategy and new business identification/build, governance, risk management and capital allocation, strategic partner relationship management & special initiatives across group companies.

- The group is expanding its presence in multiple industries including chemicals, cement, mining, Road, Defense & Aerospace.

- In this context, we are seeking an enthusiastic, driven professional, with a background in relevant industries, ideally in promoter-driven organizations/consulting firms, with experience in driving analytics, decision making, and senior relationship management.

- The individual should have sound problem-solving skills and should be an excellent communicator, with an ability to handle senior relationships, slice through large volumes of data, drive rigor and triangulation of output & present cogent/convincing points of view (both in writing and in discussions)

Reporting Structure :

- VP - Strategy & Chairman office

- Strategy & Chairman's Office

- BU (AEL)

Roles and Responsibilities :

1. Work with both President & VP - Strategy & Chairman's office to set & refine strategic agenda for the BU

2. Given the strategic agenda, ensure rigorous governance by conducting regular check-ins, supporting conduct of quarterly, half yearly and annual discussions with the promoters

3. Identify topics / themes of relevance to aid transformation of the BU; help socialize the same with inputs from Promoters and senior leadership

4. Help control capital allocations: Review proposed spend elements from various BUs and help assess/ refine the same

5. Internally contributed to team building activities within Chairman's office and strengthen systems, processes & collaboration

6. Build relationships with key BU stakeholders in order to translate chairman's vision & strategic agenda into a bought-in set of actions

Challenges :

- Able to work on multiple streams at a given time

- Role requires high appetite for analytics and comfort with handling and complex data sets; with a keen eye for rigour checking and triangulation

- Should be able to cut through large volumes of data to identify the key issues/ challenges with a BU

- Role requires quick turnaround and, on the feet, independent thinking

- Highly self-motivated and able to operate autonomously

Skill set requirements :

1. High comfort with large data sets & ability to synthesize key discussions

2. Industry and Competitor Benchmarking skills

3. Understanding of Financial Statements and other key financial metrics such as IRR, NPV, ROCE, Working Capital and their application in different business contexts

4. Strong presentation skills 5. Excellent written and oral communication skills 6. Good relationship building skills

Job Profile Educational Qualification :

- MBA from a Tier 1 institution preferred OR CA/CFA

Experience :

- 10+ years

- Experience at: Large Industrial companies o Industrial Goods/ equivalent teams of top strategy consulting firms (McK, BCG, Bain, ATK etc.) or equivalent teams of Big 4 (Deloitte, EY, KPMG or India, PwC etc.)
