- Consults with prospective clients to discuss and understand their insurance needs.
- Explains the insurance products available, the different coverage types, and the benefits of each plan.
- Collects information such as location, value, and outstanding debts about the property to be insured.
- Provide coverage on assets (e.g., house, car, etc.) and also liability insurance for accidents, injuries, and damage to other people or their belongings.
- Reviewing insurance policies to ensure that they comply with state laws
- Negotiating with carriers on behalf of clients to secure lower rates or better coverage
- Helping clients with claims by gathering and submitting evidence of loss
- Selling insurance policies to individuals or businesses, including reviewing applicants' financial records, interviewing applicants, and writing policy contracts
- Providing guidance to clients about common insurance issues such as liability coverage and deductibles
- Preparing tax forms related to insurance sales, such as 1099s and W2s
- Providing guidance to clients about common insurance issues such as liability coverage and deductibles
- Explaining optional coverages to clients and helping them choose the best possible plan based on their needs
