JOB PURPOSE

The role is based in Bangalore and reports to Head of Corporate Finance & Principal Finance - Product Control - GBS, The Product Control team supports the Corporate Finance Business on a global basis.

The successful applicant will be responsible for further developing and running the Corporate Product Control team based out of Bangalore, with reporting responsibilities both in India and in Singapore.

The role will suit an articulate and self motivated Finance professional with a track record of building and managing high performing teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The individual will be responsible for:

1) Supervise the timely production of Corporate Finance P&L and Balance Sheet reporting for. The main products controlled are Syndications, Leveraged Finance, Aviation and Shipping Leases, M&A advisory etc. This role will be responsible for a sub-set of these products.

2) Responsible for the delivery of the strategic work streams in Corporate Finance Product Control space and be an active participant and drive projects for Corporate Finance PC.

3) The role will be involved identifying the risks and controls to ensure the Corporate Finance product is controlled globally.

4) Detailed review of Corporate Finance bespoke deals executed by the CF desk across various sub products and assessing any specific accounting requirements, such as embedded derivatives and the impact of new standards.

5) Performance of month end accounting processes including Manual adjustment journals, ensuring Reconciliation between accounting platform and various sub ledgers, substantiation of account balances, etc. so as to ensure accuracy and completeness in finalisation of financial information.

6) Ensuring adherence and improving upon timelines with respect to internal guidelines and policies on various periodical reporting submissions.

7) Risk weighted assets (RWA) reporting - Review monthly movements in RWA at investment and portfolio level, assisting the business and Regulatory Reporting teams with understanding of balance sheet and RWA drivers.

8) Acting as the contact point for internal and external auditors, as required

9) Responsible for the team's compliance with the Group Accounting Policy Manual.

10) Responsible for continued development and testing of a Business Continuity Plan

11) Take responsibility for adhoc projects/ analysis to support the business

12) Collaborate with other regional Infrastructure teams to enable seamless delivery

People Management and Leadership

- Monitor workloads and manage capacity within the team to achieve optimal deployment of resources.

- Understand end to end processes to provide support for problem solving across the team

- Contribute to the proactive and visible leadership through sharing business knowledge, technical expertise and critical experiences with others.

- Comply with all Bank policies and code of conduct to ensure the exemplary performance at all times

Stakeholder Management

- Work closely with the Singapore Corporate Finance Product Control and Business Finance Leads to operate a one team across regions.

- Build relationship with Desk Heads with a view to improve the profile of the India team

- Collaborate with other regional Infrastructure teams to enable seamless delivery

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

List the desired skills and qualifications that you would be looking for from the ideal candidate

- Upto 7-10 years of relevant work experience

- Qualified Accountant is a must with Chartered Accountant preferred

- Performed roles in a Product Control environment and have a good knowledge (risk and accounting) of lending or rates products

- Excellent network building and interpersonal skills

- Understand how IT systems work, from the Front Office booking systems, through to the ledger, and how these interact.

- Ability to use excel to analyze and validate data.

- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Client (internal and external) focused and sensitive to stakeholders needs.
