FUNCTIONAL OVERVIEW
The Group Finance Pune Chief Operating Officer team comprises the following primary functions:
Business Management: Ensuring adequate governance and control of BM activities, including supporting the regular governance/review forums in the function for global teams. Ensuring Performance Management processes (Review packs, Objective tracking, Scorecards etc) are robust and required reporting is provided to the stakeholders in an effective manner. Appropriate communication and co-ordination re ongoing submissions to the GF COO team. Partnering with function heads and stakeholders to drive the functional priorities/objectives
Human Capital: Executing the HC strategy for our people aimed at ensuring that GF is an admired, high performing organization that attracts the best people because it is an employer of choice, with inclusive leadership who engage, grow and retain talents. Support HR processes through the employee lifecycle events and work with the HR teams to ensure processes are suitable to acquire, develop and retain the best talent across GF Pune.
Financial Management: Driving strong control and transparency of cost base / headcount, ensuring cost targets are met. Providing management with independent financial information and analysis, Month End Actual/ Budget reporting etc. Supporting and driving relevant cost levers to meet our financial commitments.
Provide Local leadership for GF team extension functions in Pune: Provide local leadership support to the teams in location (with Functional heads outside the location). Support the site engagement, talent management, drive internal mobility, site engagement and consistent culture and practices in the site.
Local Site and Infrastructure Support: Working closely with the Providing independent risk control, responsible for establishing risk management standards. Providing independent challenge of activities, processes and controls carried out by the line.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
The primary duties of this role include the following:
Financial Management :
- Drive a strong control and transparency of Cost base including expense and HC
- Provide management with independent financial information and analysis - actuals/budget reporting etc
- Supporting and driving relevant cost levers to meet our financial commitments
- Support efficiency initiatives and partner with the function heads and site team to identify opportunities
Business Management: Ensuring adequate governance and control of BM activities, including the following
- Adequate oversight of the HC / Hiring process including challenge and control
- Supporting and driving the Workforce Strategy of the function globally
- Maintenance and Control of the Organization Structure
- Appropriate communication and co-ordination re ongoing submissions to the GF COO team.
- Ensure Management reporting submissions are managed end to end
- Senior management reviews and updates
Risk and Control Oversight
- Good Understanding of the function risk and control in banking industry
- Custodian of Control documents i.e. SOWs, regulatory submissions etc
- Partner with the Process Control Organization and Process Owners to ensure Control items are actioned within time - Audit actions, internal controls, Annual Self assessments etc
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES (e.g., shifts, travel overseas, hours):
This role will involve significant co-ordination and contact with clients and team members located in Zurich, Singapore, London and New York/Raleigh Durham. As a result there may be an impact on working hours as the role spans worldwide time zones.
