Our Client is a Technology Business Accelerator established by Government of AP with collaboration from FICCI and University of Texas, Austin. They
- scrutinize 100 startups,
- form a "cohort" by picking 33 of them,
- put them through intense training, mentorship,
- select 8 of these would present their business cases to chosen panel of India-based and overseas industry experts,
- distill 4 from these for intense acceleration
This 100-to-33-to-8-to-4 happens in 4 months, and, thus our client runs 3 cohorts every year. COO is expected to oversee effective execution of these operations and deliver on KPIs for this role.
COO is expected to strengthen ecosystem to enable startups to gain from, hone their ideas, products, and, thus, become ready for acceleration. S/he shall drive and oversee Client's Cohort Program to deliver targets agreed in MoU with Government of AP; direct and manage processes transforming incubatees to enterprises (namely, screening, validating, product development, market development, get customers etc)
Over a period of time, COO is expected to take over from incumbent MD. Some of KPIs are -
- Success of Cohorts - at least 4 enterprises launched per cohort; at least 12 enterprises launched per year
- Exit momentum achieved for each cohort and for all cohorts - measured in terms of customer connects established for cohort-participants beyond what they came into Programme with.
- Funding tied-up - to drive scale; numbers of investors that showed interest; number of meetings transpired; USD of funds received; number of cohort-participants who could scale as planned using funds
- Tangible economic development - number of enterprises "launched"; USD value of potential topline; number of jobs created; number of domains supported
- Sustainable ecosystems created - strengthening platform for success of startup enterprises; expanded network of panel of advisors and mentors; access to senior industry leaders; potential strategic customers and partners; "know-how" or technical support; pool of capital providers
- Training number of sessions completed vs planned; effectiveness; cost
