Control & Risk Manager

Quality Assurance Element:

- Perform an independent check on the quality assurance process and raise any red flags

- Ensure the results of quality assurance process are captured and the inputs are used for training purposes

- Assist in tracking the repeat errors, perform root cause analysis and improve the end output.

Risk and Control Element for Offshore:

- Drive the implementation of cross-functional operational risk and audit actions.

- Assist functional BRCM Onshore team with support in offshore activities.

- Coordinate with functional leads to ensure that processes and internal controls are in place to achieve satisfactory audit report.

- Coordinate with functional leads to ensure all process manuals, document retention matrix, system access matrix and the allied are current and updated in line with audit and compliance requirements.

- Assist in collation of the monthly updates to the BRCM team on ORIC pack and coordinate to close on any issues raised by BRCM team

- Assist in maintaining accuracy and integrity of all required data and information with regards to operational risks, audit and business continuity.

- Build credible, strong & effective working relationships with all functional managers and BRCM staff.

- Assist in ensuring the data stored in offshore is compliant to DIM for both functions. For any exceptions, work with functional heads to close the exceptions.

- Assist in coordinating responses for any Compliance / BRCM or other Audits and keeping track of actions items to closure.

- Assist in implementing regulatory requirements to adhere to FIM policies and any compliance policy.

Essential Experience/Business:

- Experience within a global markets / investment banking type environment in Quality Assurance and Risk framework.

- Understanding of client onboarding operations processes.

Technical:

- Good knowledge of Quality Assurance framework

- Good knowledge of the operational risk discipline

- Audit experience within financial services / markets environment a plus

- Highly effective verbal & written communication skills

- Strong analytical skills

- Excellent Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Access skills a plus

- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail combined with the ability to take complete ownership of issues, work independently with confidence and deliver to deadlines in line with expectations is critically important

- The successful candidate will be very familiar with the regulations within the client on-boarding arena and have a good understanding of an investment banking and markets type business, highly adept at multi-tasking, and be able to confidently interface with individuals in all departments and at all levels of the functions

- The candidate will need to quickly gain the trust & respect of those they need to closely interact with, but will also need ,at times, to be firm in challenging or pushing back in order to ensure an integral & robust operational discipline is maintained

Ideal Experience / Skills:

- The successful candidate will need to have a flare for risk management and also be able to understand and appreciate the need for an operational risk programme in a Banking environment.

- Experience in both Operations and Controls background will be essential as it is important to understand challenges faced by an Operations team and also understand regulatory requirements.

- Experience in major financial house is essential, backed up by experience in a traded markets operational function.
