Job profile

Derive the strategy of the unit (e.g. segment, product group) from the BA's and company's strategy.

Manage the professional work of the unit (e.g. segment, product group) as to reach targets and to attain all tasks assigned to the unit (e.g. segment, product group) permanently in line with processes, timeframe and quality requirements and within the segment and company strategy.

Dimension: Size of the group: 700+

Supervisor : Head of Tech Center India , Head of ASC R&D global

Internal Contacts: ASC Management team, Disciplines, Project Management, Sales, Quality, Program Management, Plant. ww ASC R&D team incl. Head of R&D ASC, Location R&D heads

External : Customers External Service Providers, Academia, Industry Bodies, Media

Vision, Mission, Strategy

- Contribute to the global ASC R&D strategy - Translates strategy into goals and creates accountability in market to achieve the goals in pragmatic approach.

- Develops strategic plan by studying technological and financial opportunities; presenting assumptions; recommending objectives.

- Develop vision & mission, strategy and roadmap in alignment with Segment/Business Area - Identify the business growth opportunities and converts the opportunities into deliverables

- Demonstrates decisiveness: Understands the big picture and determines the strategic priority for the location.

- Strategy for local market growth

Technical Management : - Support to deliver best-in-class technical requirements (technology (Base) development / Application Development) - Drive technical innovations

- Support in roadmap for future technologies and product development especially for emerging markets. - Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

- Engage whole organization in COP/CRP/CIP activities

People Management : - Setting up, leading, developing, and operating the department

- Staffing, managing, developing and coaching team leaders and project leaders; identifying and mentoring hi-pots

- Creating strategies for competency management (excellence), efficient utilization of resources (productivity) - Foster a culture of creativity and open interaction, leading to high employee engagement and customer satisfaction. - Succession Planning and leadership development at all levels.

Project Management :

- deliver best-in-class project results to internal and external customers in order to delight them

- foster a culture of promoting excellent results, high re-use of good solutions, learning from and helping each other

- make people go the "extra mile" to keep their commitments, or solve a hard customer problem

- Communicates with project team , higher management, and customers in order to exchange information and identify improvement opportunities.

Finance and controlling :

- Resource and Investment plan

- Budget planning and adherence

Misc :

- Maintains professional and technical knowledge, build Continental brand by engaging with educational institutes, Industrial bodies , workshops; reviewing/participating in professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies, automotive association, corporate bodies, fairs etc

- Coordination with other segment, BA and central functions on daily operational and strategic topics.

- Developing and fostering relationships with external service providers.

- Contract Management

- Media Interaction

Required Knowledge :

Management Proficiency - Strategic Mgmt, Customer Mgmt, Finance Mgmt, Quaility Mgmt.

Technical expertise

Business Administration know-how (e.g. human resources, financial)

Leadership competencies

Project Management competencies

Relevant professional experience in the field is coordinating is required

Project/Process exposure in the relevant field

International exposure (working in international team/projects)

Asia (China/Japan) experience preferable
