Job Details

Branch Manager – Retail Liabilities – Consumer Banking

LOCATION: Major metro’s across India

JOB PROFILE

- To plan and drive the business of an Individual Branch as a Chief Executive Officer for the branch in a line with regulatory guidelines and enabling achievement of top line product targets and ensuring customer delight.

- This job requires the incumbent to consolidate work with the team in building holistic client relationships across the specified territory & segment’s assigned, adopting an Integrated Client acquisition and service model involving various products like assets, liability, investment, trade etc. along with various customer convenience services.

- The incumbent will be responsible for leading the branch service and sales teams ensuring that all have adequate knowledgeable on various products and process and motivating them in achieving their targets.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

- The incumbent in the role would be reporting into Area Manager – Branch Banking role which takes care of a cluster of branches.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

Key Accountabilities

1) Align branch budgets across the various branch teams and ensure same are achieved.

2) Ensure smooth functioning of banking operation by ensuring regulatory compliance & customer satisfaction

3) Drive, support and review- achievement of branch targets, improve the quality of customer acquisition & penetration.

4) Managing people

Major Activities

1) Percolate the yearly targets to the team and conduct regular reviews to track progress and chat a way forward with the team.

2) Act as a checker for operational issues in the branch keeping in mind the operational risk parameters along with regulatory reporting.

3) Support the team and accompany them on client calls and help break through large value accounts

4) Ensure high level of motivation and engagement in the Branch Team

Key Result Areas

1) Ensure not only understanding of branch budgets by the team, but also equipping them on the “how” part of achieving the targets.

2) Audit scores

- Unusual event reporting

- Customer satisfaction and service scores

- Branch scores

3) Achievement of budgeted targets.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

- The below points have been carefully considered as being essential for this role.

Personal

- Must be a self starter

- Must be process oriented

- Must be proactive and with high energy levels

- Must be analytical, practical and have aptitude for trouble-shooting.

- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be tenacious, detail-oriented, tough minded when needed, but diplomatic.

Professional

- Must be capable of working with a team and managing associate level reportees.

- In depth understanding of the business processes and leading edge operations and their application to the client’s business. Must have able to settle in an environment requiring entrepreneurial / building skills.

- You must be a graduate from a major Business school / Chartered Accountant with at-least three years of direct selling experience in any industry.

Languages – Good written and spoken English essential.

Road Map for New Joinees in the role –

- The above position is a part of strategic hiring plans for the firm.

- All new joinees to the role will be taken through a detailed induction and training program (a mix of on the job and classroom interventions) and a regular mentoring from the seniors in the team.

- The incumbent in the role would join in as a “Deputy Branch Manager” in an individual branch. The Deputy Branch Manager role is the second in line to the branch manager of a particular branch.

- The incumbent would be expected to work as a Deputy Branch Manager for a time period of six months and would be provided inputs all aspects of banking and on the completion of six months the incumbent would be expected to move into the branch manager role of an independent branch.

Career path –

- After a successful stint as a branch manager for a particular branch the incumbent can look forward to moving on to an Area Manager – Branch Banking role which is responsible for managing a cluster of branches. The Area Manager branch banking role reports into the Regional Branch Manager role which manages a region for the firm reporting into the national head.

- Alternatively the incumbent can move into different roles such as Product, Process, Marketing or move to other lines of business such as Wholesale Banking, Commercial Banking, Wealth Management etc.

Cost to Company – Will not be a constraint for the right candidate.
