- Ensuring that governance and compliance adhere to legal mandates
- To develop a framework for compliance assurance - to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor compliance risks with regulatory guidelines, statutory requirements, and prescribed minimum standards on an ongoing basis and report the findings to the management, lest there be regulatory penalties that could negatively affect the bank's reputation.
- To coordinate with regulatory authorities to obtain various approvals, clearances, and clarifications to facilitate business.
- Overseeing the implementation of new circulars and guidelines; a dvising business and top management on regulatory guidelines; approving policy, product, and process notes from a compliance standpoint; reporting instances of non-compliances or non-implementation of circulars to the Board Audit Committee
- Coordinating with Internal Audit and Risk functions to strengthen compliance; and driving change projects and building
