Compliance Officer - Real Estate Fund

BlackSoil Realty Trust (a SEBI registered AIF) established in Mumbai & with majority of its focus on Mumbai residential market is seeking a highly qualified, self-motivated, dynamic, independent position for an experienced Senior Accountant. Reporting directly to the Company's top management, this is an exceptional opportunity to work with a dynamic team

The candidate would be responsible for handling the areas of Fund accounting, Audit, Financial Statements and Periodic reporting, and various Company law related matters ensuring deadlines are met

Job Functions, Unique Duties & Responsibilities:

- Fund Investment

Involved in the due - diligence of financials for the investment to be done by the fund

Monitoring the income, expenses and the cash flow statement for the various transactions of the fund

- Fund Accounting

Responsible for completing day to day accounting activities and monitoring overall financials

Controlling both payables and receivables

Finalization of books of accounts including balance sheet and tax matters as per policy

Daily fund accounting tasks, including cash and position reconciliation, resolution of discrepancies with transfer agent's and custodian's records, etc

Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards

Develop, implement, modify, and document record keeping and accounting systems

Performing fund valuation and conduct valuation analysis.

Calculation and ensuring accuracy of Net Asset Value, including monthly expenses accrual, preparation of month-end balance sheet reconciliations to ensure all balances have been correctly reported, documented and supported, etc

Calculation of management and performance fees, and preparation of capital contribution letters, etc

Computation of IRR, carry-ins, compensating contributions, delayed interest etc

- Audits

Handle Statutory and Regulatory Audits/ Inspection

Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the processes/ controls and resolution of audit queries

Provide assistance during annual audit, and other special audits

Co-ordinate effectively with all the stake holders for preparation of Audit Plan

- Others

Ensuring compliance with SEBI, Sponsors and Trustees of the Fund for various quarterly and yearly reporting

Prepare and communicate on a continuous basis with all the investors of the fund

Understanding and Interpretation of Regulatory changes impacting Fund Accounting Dept

Preparation of any regulatory/statutory reporting, management reports, investor reports and other ad-hoc reports to the relevant authorities, directors and clients, in an accurate and timely manner

Handling ROC compliances for private entities and other matters relating to company law

Candidate Requirements:

- At least 1-2 years post qualification experience in investment management operations, custodian bank, fund administration

- This position requires a University degree in accounting or business and a professional qualification in finance (CA/CS /legal or any combination of both)

- In-depth Knowledge of Accounting Standards & Systems Understanding of Statutory/Regulatory Compliance Management Principals of Tax Management, Credit Control, Treasury Operations, Fund Planning

- Experience with automated financial and investment management & operations systems

- Strong communication skills, able to work as a team player as well as independently and under pressure

- Extremely well self-organized, precise and accurate, hands-on
