Commercial Director - MNC - Sports Industry - 15-20 Years
Role Purpose: To generate leads, and close sales, sponsorships and partnerships revenues.
Responsibilities:
1. Management of a commercial team whilst maintaining and managing their own accounts and revenue pipeline. Maintaining full oversight and control of activities in the region. The focus of this position is to lead on and deliver defined sales revenue targets against agreed plans. The role will also play a critical part in supporting the future development of the commercial sales objectives and plans for the club.
2. Establish and maintain a pipeline of sales revenue across both new business and renewals.
3. Work with the team to drive communication strategies for clients, ensuring Group and Club's brand is enhanced through partners and stakeholders.
4. Work with the wider team to ensure commercial sales plans are aligned with the wider Group's partnerships strategy.
5. Provide commercial advice to other areas of the business, either to sales colleagues or across other business units on partnership revenue opportunities.
6. Stakeholder Management, by developing and maintaining a relationship of trust and respect with key internal stakeholders, including the Finance and Legal teams, to ensure effective and efficient delivery of partner acquisitions. Develop relationships across all commercial functions within the Group, working to ensure collaboration across teams in the delivery of solutions that benefit the Group. Work in collaboration with current/potential commercial partners to deliver an exceptional client experience.
Essentials:
- Minimum 14 years of experience in a related role.
- Demonstrable sales revenue achievements and deep understanding of the Indian sponsorship landscape.
- Examples of exceptional sales management to achieve high quality partnership deals, which enhance both parties.
- Excellent communicating - particularly English - and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence external commercial clients/stakeholders.
- Deep knowledge of the commercial aspect of the football/sports/entertainment industry.
- Demonstrable credibility and a network of contacts in the commercial arena, including relationships with marketing and sponsorships decision makers in the Indian business and industry community
- Experience of leading a department of commercial professionals
