Deputy General Manager, General Manager

Key Responsibilities (Primary)

Stakeholder Relationship

- Manage relationships with the client stakeholder(s)

Set Expectations & Values

- Continually work with client stakeholder to discuss engagement progress, solicit feedback and explore scope for further opportunities

Project Management

- Oversee project execution on multiple projects and take action in case of slippages

- People management – supervise project team

- Manage client expectations on overall project delivery

Strategy Performance

- Review the approach defined for the project and provide inputs

- Review the project plan

Process Performance

- Review project progress on a regular basis

- Review key deliverables before they are presented to the client

Coaching

- Both formal and informal coaching of team(s) – both client and internal

Increase Sales

- Lead proposal creation including effort estimates for project work

- Lead pre-sales and post-sales support

- Lead development of domain collaterals

Vertical Industry Knowledge

- Industry Research

- Gain considerable expertise in the industry domain across various process types

Key responsibilities (Secondary)

- Proactively increase skills via training

- Lead team-level initiatives

Project-based responsibility

- Lead multiple Cognizant teams working on assignments with a single client or multiple clients

Knowledge (each subsequent level assumes the skills of the lower level)

- Excellent communication and analytical skills

- BB certification and >3 years of experience in a MBB role

- Graduate in any discipline and Post graduation (preferred)

- Exposure to working onshore or with onshore clients is desirable

- Experience in training delivery (Green Belt/Black Belt/Lean training)

- Excellent knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean methodologies

- Expertise in multiple types of reengineering assignments and environments

- Ability to independently develop solutions for complex business functionality

- Advanced practical knowledge of business processes

- Knowledge of current industry trends

- Basic ability to provide sales support, including proposal, RFP support or SOW creation

- Advanced leadership skills and project management of medium to large teams

- Excellent client management skills

Interactions

- Within own team or department at leadership / strategic level

- Contact with user/customer up to and including senior-level management

- Contact with peers in the organization at global senior management at strategic level
