India is the largest provider of generic medicines globally and the third-largest producer in terms of volume. No wonder, India is christened as the - Pharmacy of the World- . But sadly, more than 3/5th of its own population still doesn- t have access to quality modern medicines. According to an estimate, India has more than 25,000 Pharma Manufacturers; hence the production is not an issue. Therefore, the problem lies in the highly fragmented, multilayered nature of the distribution network that is extremely inefficient and devoid of any innovation. Due to this, the supply chain management (SCM) operations are inherently expensive.

For perspective, manufacturers spend about 1/3rd of their revenue to fund the SCM operations. As a consequence, only the Top 20 companies have a nationwide sales presence whereas the SMEs dominating the market have a highly localized area of operations or else, function as - Third-Party Manufacturer- for the Top 20 companies. The SCM operations are expensive due to the three key reasons: Lack of digitization in Supply Chain, dependence on Stockists- Sales (secondary) rather than retailers- sales (tertiary) to monitor sales and the long channel of distribution which makes it mandatory for companies to maintain all their SKUs at all levels at all times or else, face the risk of Brand substitution.

The solution is a tech-enabled pharmaceutical distribution model that makes use of digitization as a means to improve efficiency in the supply chain and as a ready-built distribution network for pharma companies. The ultimate goal is to make healthcare affordable and accessible for all.

About the Startup

Founded by an IIT Alumnus, the Startup began its operations in Oct 2019 and rolled out its MVP in the month of Dec 2019. The production version was released in the month of Feb 2020 and is currently being used by about 200 businesses across 16 states. The startup is now looking at rapidly scaling up its network and reach across the Tier II & below areas of the country. We have bootstrapped the operations so far and are currently reaching out to Angel investors

Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned Startup Enthusiast who would be willing to join us at this early stage and help build a business that has the potential of impacting the lives of millions of Indians directly.

An ideal candidate should have:

1. Prior Startup Experience (preferably B2B / Consumer Internet / Healthcare)

2. Voracious Risk Appetite (We are building a business here...:D)

3. Education from one of the Premier Institutes is a definite plus

4. Sales/BD profile is desirable

5. Basic knowledge of Supply Chain Management (SCM)

6. Willingness to travel to Tier II & below areas frequently

7. Excellent written and communication skills

Compensation: A Substantial Sweat Equity in the range of 20-30% is on offer.
